How long does baileys last?

I have some Lidl knock off baileys, it's still sealed but there is absolutely no best before date on it.

I'm not sure how long I've had it- at best it was brought for Xmas 2012 but it could have been here since 2011. It's definitely not older than that...

I'm worried because it's cream (I'm usually quite easy going with dates) what do you all think though? Will it kill me 😳

Generally it lasts about a week in my house Grin

Otherwise I think if its unopened it should be ok, yes there's cream but also alcohol. I'd usually go with if it looks ok & smells ok taste a little bit & if it tastes ok I'd drink it.

I'm having that debate i work on the theory that the alcohol will kill most bugs so as long as it's not curdled, looks and smells/ tastes ok It's good to go

Last xmas I came down with a really bad cold on xmas eve, the year before I discovered amaretto and got hooked on that 😂 2013 I was poorly also and 2012 I worked Boxing Day so there was no drinking that year. I really did plan to drink it lol.

Ok I'm guessing if I get sick now I should be better for xmas day... I'll report back Wink

It won't hurt you but it might start to lack flavour or taste slightly unpleasant.

Proper baileys has a shelf life guarantee of 2 years (opened or unopened),

don't know about the knock off stuff, it might have more preservatives so might last longer.,

If it's off you will be able to tell by the taste. My neighbour brought me an opened bottle once, said someone had given it to him but he didn't like it. I was delighted as you can't get it where I live, and poured myself a glass after dinner. It tasted so horrible I spat it out.
When I looked more closely at the bottle I saw that it was four years out of date Shock
I expect an unopened bottle to be fine.

It was fine! I've no stomach bug this morning Xmas Grin I've popped it in the fridge now it's opened - I'm sure it'll be gone by Boxing Day! Thanks everyone Xmas Smile
