OMG, I just bought a screw top wine!

my first. was in Sainsbury's stocking up on pulses and decided to try their generic Italian white.

in a screwtop Shock!

have just opened it as we're about to have tea.

Actually the screwtop bit is OK -Wolf Blass does a very nice screwtop white, it was the generic italian tht put me off Grin

Screwtops are generally accepted as a Good Thing these days,even by top wine chaps and chapesses.
A shame really.
Nothing so beautiful as the sound of a cork being eased out...

Went to a talk at the Vintners Society not so long ago, and they take their wine "frightfully" seriously, and they have no issue with screw tops at all. So unless it was nasty cheap stuff, you are in good company!

Don't!!

We have just bought cases of Pinot Grigio for the restaurant and DH discovered they are screw top!

Gutted.

Dont know how it will be received by the customers...will let you know.

hey, it's pretty good! it's sainsbury's brand 'sicilia'. excellent w/chicken or a vegetarian dish.

mmmmm. crisp and not too sweet.
