Quick straw poll: how often do you:

a) eat takeaways?
b) eat in a restaurant?

not often enough.

a. once every couple of weeks maybe? we're fussy about takeaway so only occasionally get arabic or indian food. Have never found decent chinese takeaway and DH doesn't like pizza.

b. proper going out into town about once a week, plus the odd supper at Carluccios with dd and the odd lunch at local nice aussie cafe for me as a treat when childminder comes.

Takeaway once a week if I have the money, eat out maybe 3/4 times a year.

Take-away every Friday. Curry for DH and me and pizza for the DC.

Dinner out every Sunday.

Take aways about twice a week (as a family meal, with home-cooked rice & vegies)
Take aways as quick snack, like chips for lunch or after school snack for one of us: 1-2x a week in term time & 2-4x/week in school hols.

Eating out... hard to define, too...
All of us together: almost never.
DH as work lunch: almost daily
me or DH with any of DC: probably once a fortnight on average, that includes cafe snacks on cycle rides, that kind of thing

Take away maybe twice a month.

Restaurant about the same. But I go to cafes about every other day.

A) about once a month - generally I prefer home cooked food, apart from curry, but if I had that more often would be the size of a house. Eg I can't really see the appeal of a Domino's pizza when one from Tesco is half the calories/fat and a quarter of the price!

B) also about once a month, when my parents visit and babysit.

A) about 6 times a year! My boys 12 and 14 have eaten adult portions for a long time now, so an Indian take away costs nigh on £40.

B) once a month as a family.

b) Eating out - variable between zero and 4 times a month

a) take-aways - hardly ever. But I often get M&S meals on Saturday because I can't be arsed to cook. Better and cheaper than take-aways round my way.

b) maybe once a monthish in a restuarant. That includes frankie and benny's, pizza express (the Family sorta stuff) plus Nice Lunch with friends.

Takeaways - once a week. It's a Saturday ritual in our house!
Eat out as a family - once a month

A) once every 1-2weeks

B) never (2very young children and no gp locally to babysit!) so our take outs are instead of restaurant meals.

Fish and chips on a friday, usually have lunch out with friends once a week.

Eat out as a family on special occasions only usually.

Take away, hardly ever. Maybe once or twice a year. My husband has a penchant for a battered saveloy if I desert him for a weekend though ....
Eat out, about monthly but a once year Anniversary "budget buster" eating out experience (you know the ones, dinner is three weeks normal food money). We love it!

Take away - 3/4 times per year. We can never agree on Chinese/Curry/Fish and Chips etc

Eating out - 1/2 per week. Once during the week, and then sometimes a Sunday lunch [very lazy housewife emoticon]

A lot less than we did pre-kids!

Probably takeaway once a month (or twice including when we host a party so don't need sitters, and people get pizza in, which we probably wouldn't have done ourselves)
Eat out - once a month, maybe twice if you count a cafe for a snack and drink.
That used to be about once a week for both.

We eat more roasts and semi-prepared food now, though when I was on mat leave I did loads more cooking and baking.

Those that have takeaways most weeks, is that just for you and DH/DP later on in the evening or the whole family?
