Just that really. Do you like going or do you dread it?

I've just finished a four month course (could have done with four years really but thats another story)
I always felt tense and apprehensive beforehand, and felt quite fragile and often tearful afterwards. But I could feel that it was doing me good if you see what I mean?
It's hard. It's painful. One thing I do think is that it's not 'one size fits all'. I've had various stints in therapy, private and NHS and the university counselling service. The last lot was the only one I felt was properly helpful. You do need to build a relationship with a therapist and learn to trust them, and don't be afraid to say 'actually this isn't working for me'. Although thats easier said than done with NHS waiting lists being the way they are.
My mum on the other hand looks forward to going, and takes great pleasure in telling me in great detail what they've discussed this week. (My mum is a big part of the reason that I need therapy but again, that's another story...!)
Have you started therapy OP? How are you finding it?

I don’t really like it. It’s hard. I feel pretty anxious before I go as I know I’ll be taking about (or trying to avoid talking about) difficult and triggering things. I tend to feel better after I’ve been though and do ok for 3-4 days afterward before I start to dip again. Annoying how much I need to go
