.... crashing .
Right , that's the melodramatic bit done .
We're legally of no fixed abode , and both my daughters , one adult , one not are struggling with depression and anxiety , as am I .
I'm busy being FINE for them , practical , loving and supportive , and I have a loving and supportive partner , but inside I'm crumbling . Seeing the doc at the end of the month .
I'm ' staying ' with my partner while we weather the winter and decide if we should make this a permanent situation, but he's a hoarder , not Quite channel 4 documentary level but his house is rammed with stuff and most of my life is locked in shipping containers an hour away .
Finding life very hard work basically and could use a general chat , and maybe share some time with other folks also struggling and could also use some support on here .
Sorry for garbled mess of this opening post . My heads fried .

Blimey, you have a LOT on your plate! Is your partner getting professional help for the hoarding/issues that result in the hoarding? Can you see the GP before the end of the month - your health is important too (even more so as you are the one holding everyone else together!) Flowers

Hi thanks , we've had a big talk about it all , we're going to get on top of it , and hopefully by moving things forward we'll all feel better ... but yes , I don't feel grown up enough for all of this , and I'm fifty Hmm

Unlikely to see Gp before then unless I cease to cope at all ... he's always booked up in advance that long , but he's worth the wait , he listens and empathises ...

I suspect no one feels grown up - everyone is just faking it and hoping no one notices! This seems to mostly work though, in that most adults appear adult-like to everyone else :)

Hoarding really tricky. It may help to think of it as a sort of nesting behaviour for the insecure - lots of familiar objects around you help to ground you. It's why people get very resistant to throwing away what is blatantly tat/rubbish - because to them it is security. I personally find it easier to recycle or charity-shop stuff: somehow binning things is much harder to do than passing an item on to another useful part of its life. Best wishes.
