I'm really starting to get concerned about my current mental health. If I went to my GP saying I'm having suicidal thoughts what would happen?

It depends on what you say and what the policy is IME. Sometimes they will send you to a&e to see the crisis team and other times they will prescribe/change medication and ask to see you again in a few days/week

I would say that if there'd been no traffic on my way home from work I would've smashed the car into a tree and that it doesn't bother me that I could do this a few days before my dd(2)'s Birthday

Or please don’t give into this terrible shit.

Ring your surgery and ask for an urgent appointment, if they start going on we’ve nothing blah blah
Just told them your having suicidal thoughts.

Your Gp will as said Ib on any up yours meds and possibly give you Diazepam if your anxiety is high.
She will get in touch with the crisis team or like said send you to a&e.
There you will get seen by the on call psychiatrist, who will access you

You may have PND

Please do it, lots of people leave things and let it get to this extreme and then feel hopeless.
Ring the surgery’s now

Let us know how you get on, hugs. Xx

I'm just so tired of everything. I don't know whether I want to go to GP or not, frightened of the unknown I think.

@Gettingitoutintheopen please please reach out to your GP. Reading your post sounds so similar to my experience. I had 2 small dc’s at the time and wanted to drive my car at speed off the road so no one would know it’d been a decision and think it was an accident.
I reached out to my GP at 1600 on a Friday afternoon and begged the receptionist to help me. Told her I wouldn’t be here on Monday to call back. I was in to see my GP within 20 minutes. Told her EVERYTHING. She saved my life that day. Got me all the help and support I could have ever needed. I know that I’m lucky to have had such a positive outcome but please try.
Keep calling them until you get in front of a medical professional.
Sending you positive vibes.
Please let us know how you get on x

We’re all frightened of the unknown, thats not uncommon

If you can’t get to the surgery ask for a home visit??
Tell them you can’t get to the surgery and you need a dr to see you today asap. Once you start to explain it will just flow out how you are feeling.
Dr have seen many many people in a state, and that’s what there there for to help in our hour of need.
She’s not going to get an ambulance and have you locked up, she will listen to you. Then ask you what help do you think you need and how she can help you.

You will come out of this, many many of us have.you so exhausted because your mind on overload
Are you on your own? Or do you have hubby or partner? Have you spoke to them about how you feel

Please ring Gp tomorrow and don’t go to work feeling like you do, get yourself sorted.

I'm at work. I know I shouldn't be but it's only a short shift today. I've decided I'm going to sit down with DH tomorrow and tell him how I'm feeling and ask him to come to the GP with me. Can't go on feeling like this
