I know I am posting a lot just now but feel I am losing touch with reality and the more people I talk to the more it helps. CPN told me to start on tablets - Mirtazapine which I got last week, Thursday I think but I've not started them yet. Mainly due to the manic highs which make me feel good and that I am in control and somehow able to live in this special state of being. But I also know from my diary I have been doing some very destructive things. And today I started talking to myself and my kids have noticed. I have to start these tablets but am afraid that I won't cos I am not focussed enough. So can I ask if someone can just check in with me tomorrow and hand hold me. Thank you so much.

I'll check in, it's awful feeling this way but hopefully the tablets help quickly.
Flowers and a handhold, thinking of you.

Checking in OP. Starting mess is not easy but if they work they can work really well. Take it easy and be kind to yourself today Flowers

Thanks was already on fluoxetine for 6 weeks, made my symptoms worse, stopped 2 weeks tomorrow think I wanted to give it time to clear my system but am worried about side effects of this AD! Going to ask my daughter to sit with me after I take them tonight although I guess unlikely I'd have a severe reaction with just one dose.

Thinking of you, if you are concerned then having someone with you when you start your new tablets could really help. A small break between meds to get one out of your system is a good idea sometimes but if you are struggling then starting the new tablets could really help. Hope this is the one that works for you Flowers

Hi Mirtazapine just knocked me out the first time I took it, slept for the first time in ages. Hope it goes ok for you.

Have you taken them OP? I was on citalopram and really struggled to take them to start with.

But if you are manic, won't an anti-depressant make it worse? Are you bipolar? Are you on a mood stabiliser?

Hi sorry for not getting back, been hard to ground myself these past few days. Started the ADs on Monday night after I managed to scare myself with my behaviour and kids noticed, eg talking to myself a lot and also went out on my kids bike for a very fast ride with no helmet, throwing things etc. Have been told I am not bipolar as the manic phases aren't lasting continuously. It seems to be mixed mania and is occuring throughout the day with constant changes and is totally exhausting. Diagnosis so far is Agitated Major Depression but I think my CPN is a bit flumuoxed. Have still to see a psychiatrist. Thanks for the support.
