ESA appeal - who can I take with me?

Thecatgotmytongue · 07/07/2016 21:52

I was turned down at work capability assessment, turned down now at mandatory reconsideration. I'm going to appeal, as I can't hold down a job at present due to anxiety/depression.

I don't feel I can cope on my own at the appeal. Who would be able to help? Do CAB help? I can't ask MIND due to family members working there Sad

Anyone got any advice on how best to proceed? I've no CPN etc, GPs not taking me seriously .. I literally don't know what to do.

Can you see if CAB have any advocacy volunteers or are you in contact with any MH charities?

Try Fightback, they're a charity which helps with benefits paperwork. They have a good track record and are lovely people. I hope it goes ok for you.

www.benefits and work.co.uk have a forum where you might get some advice and alswww.disabilityrightsuk.org will also have some specialised advice.

Thanks. I've not heard of Fightback, I'll look into that and also contact CAB.

I feel totally overwhelmed and have no one to help me.

Is the charity Fightback 4 Justice, £4.99 to join?

Is there any charity that will accompany me to the appeal? I have social anxiety and don't know how I'll cope, but have been told I must turn up or I'll definitely get turned down straight away.

I made the mistake of going to the work capability assessment alone and that's one of the main reasons they say I can work and don't need ESA Sad Confused

I joined Fightback, but didn't receive an activate code, so can't do anything. In the meantime I'm trying to fill in the forms and just getting more and more stressed about the whole thing. I'll go to cab on Monday, see if they can help.
