So I've been offered some group therapy starting in a couple of weeks which is great but it's 10:30 - 12 on a Thursday. I'm a teacher - I can't see how I'm going to be able to do that every week and I've only just got this job and I need the money. How do other people do it?! I also need half an hour each side to get there so it just seems impossible.

Hi could you talk to the provider and see if there are other time slots available? I know they can be like gold dust tho. Or talk to ur head and explain? Are you contracted to certain days/ hours?

Ask for an evening group.

You may need to request Thursday mornings off for medical reasons for a couple of weeks. It won't be indefinite. Speak to your school and they may be understanding and accommodating. Mine have never had problems with me having time off for medical reasons and consequently have a happier healthier member of staff.

Not a teacher but very difficult for me to have time off work, have always just arranged appointments for my afternoons off. I wasn't able to access a mindfulness group I was invited to join because the "evening" group started at 6pm which was too early for me, still at work at that time.

Have you asked the healthcare provider what alternatives there are - one-to-one session, telephone sessions?
