Difficulty dealing with transitions- anxiety related?

I am supposedly NT and have never been officially diagnosed with a mental health problem though I do feel I suffer from anxiety.

I have a lot of difficulty dealing with transitions and while I know this can be a factor in ADHD or ASD, I have not seen much mention of it in relation to an anxious personality.

Apparently I'm not very goodbye at saying hello to people (prob due to my uncomfortableness with small talk) though I think I'm better with strangers when there's not much else to say.

The transitions that affect are mostly the ones where I have to say switch into a different role, eg meeting children after school (although I find that easier now) or when they come in after spending time with their Dad/grandparent.

I'm just not sure whether this is a feature of anxiety (the fear of what's to come, how people are going to be, the unpredictable) or something else.

Thanks for any light you can shed on this

I've suffered anxiety for a long time and am quite the opposite, I love putting on a role, or transitioning roles. It makes my life easier to see it as the former I think.

That's interesting. Mine might not be the anxiety, maybe the lack of control. I just wish I knew why I found it so hard...

I do agree I can put on a good act socially if I need to...but again this is normally with strangers
