Hi ladies,
I've recently been through a period of depression/acute anxiety which was similar to the pnd I had 3 years ago. I'm coming out the other side now, but I'm still worrying about my bond with my 3yr old. I think I'm worrying too much, and I'm constantly watching out for the old rushes of love I used to feel. Has anyone else been through anything similar? And will I get my bond back? Xx

It may be better if you post this on a different board?

You havent got any replies on here, and I think, that you will probably get quite a few on one of the young child ones? Or even chat?

hth

I have had this experience. I found my anxiety made the children anxious, although i was going through severe physical health problems at the time.

i just wanted to post and say that at the time it can feel you have lost the bond and it will not return but as I got better things improved and they did come back to me in the end.

Simple things, like reading a book or spending time together will encourage your child to feel loved and just attention really...even watching TV together. Don't be too hard on yourself. HTH.

Yes, I've just started counselling for this issue.

Three weeks in, the bond (or my perception of it) is better. I've uncovered a tonne of other stuff that needs dealing with though! It's worth it as I'm sort of doing it for DD, but now for my own sake as well.
