I've taken antidepressants for 15 years, Citalopram, Fluoxetine and for the last few years Venlafaxine. Always had practically non-existent sex drive, which I've assumed could be side effect of the tablets. Was affecting my marriage so DH and I have been going to Relate for last few weeks/months. I want to stop the tablets to see if sex issue improves and also because for quite a while I've felt detached from everything, like having no proper feelings for DH and our 3 children. But in the past when I've tried to come off tablets, within 2 weeks I've been tearful, anxious and unable to cope. At the moment I feel desperate, worried about situation with DH and very mixed up about several issues that have come up at Relate. So possibly not the best time to try and stop. But I feel it may be the only way to solve libido problems. Very confused. Has anyone else managed to get off these addictive pills after such a very long time? Thank you.

Should I stop Venlafaxine tablets after 15 years? Can't cope with side effects anymore but don't want to get ill again. Bit desperate.
