Has anyone got any positive experience of taking Cerazette for PMS - I am getting to the end of my tether

I have suffered badly with PMS over the past few years and it has accelerated since the birth of dd 8 months ago. I have been on Fluoxetine for past year or so and whilst it initially took the edge off it no longer seems to help. Been prescribed Cerazette today but have just googled and many people seem to have horrible side effects. Has anyone had any good experiences that will encourage me to give it a go as now feeling a bit apprehensive. Just want something to take away the crazy, angry me!

I was the same as you haribo. I suffered with severe PMT and the doctor perscribed citalopram to help. It was fantastic, got rid of it totally at first, carried on working brilliantly for some time, obviously your body adjusts to the drug and doesn't have the same effect after a while but personally it carried on working well for me.

No way! I've been searching for solutions for severe PMT for...um...15 years and never heard of ADs mentioned as being helpful....Typically I've had GPs suggest stuff like evening primrose oil- surely GP speak for "I do not have a clue about this condition"!

Does Citalopram have a lot of side effects? For the last 6 months I've been on the Pill, as it worked for my PMT in the past, but it really doesn't seem to have this time.
