Hi Ladies,

I know you are out there, unfortunately. So if you are an emet, seeking therapy or not, join in here and hopefully we can help one another confront this debilitating phobia!

Hi i'm here (still with phobia), having therapy but having a panic day today as a child in dd's class is off with D&V, dd1 had a bug last half term so i'm worried she will get it this year. Dd2 had the bug before christmas as did I, dd1 avoided it but now i'm worried as since she was born she has had it once a year (between jan and march), she's now 7 and i'm crossing my fingers that she doesn't get it this year but i think i'm fooling myself Sad.

another one here - although i like to think of myself 'in recovery' too i still get in a right state if one of the DC's is sick or has the runs. i shake, i have irrational thoughts and i want to run away. i know it's not normal but i have managed to stop myself for all the 'preventative' measures i used to take like not touching door handles and washing my hands excessively.

to be honest i don't think my phobia will go away until i am actually sick again. the last time was about seven years ago and i can clearly remember thinking, oh that wasn't as bad as i thought it was going to be! i almost need reminding of that but then again the thought of doing it again scares me beyond belief...Sad

Oh my. Just got my three DSs up and DS1 has been sick everywhere in his bed, on the floor, on the bedside table, all over himself, everywhere - my worst nightmare. Trying not to panic. We're supposed to be going away this weekend as well :(

My phobia comes and goes. It's not as bad at the moment as it has been. But I am terrified of getting bugs myself. We had one just before Christmas and I did get it but I wasn't sick (just the other end - which normally happens to me).

Belgianbun I remember you too :). He's been fine all day so hopefully he's over it. But I am nervous about the rest of us - especially as we're going away tomorrow for two days. Deep breath.
