Reverse Seasonal Affective Disorder, anyone?

I have just read this, and it makes perfect sense to me. I always feel worse during the summer - just as described: agitation, depressed etc. Now it's October and the nights are drawing in I feel so much better. Curiously, this suggests a link with bipolar (interesting as I have just receieved a provisional diagnosis of bipolar.) Is it just freaky me who feels like this, or can anyone else identify? [hgrin]

Wow, I just came across this and I'm intrigued. My OH absolutely HATES the summer and gets quite down and lethargic then (he's been taking seroxat for years now), he always brightens up during the autumn though and actively looks forward to the cold weather. He takes very mild/ tepid baths and showers and hardly ever wears a coat.
I thought it was something to do with his blood pressure but it really sounds like him in the article. I'll show him the article when he gets back from work, thank you.

I hope you are receiving good treatment for bipolar and I hope it helps with this reverse SAD.

ME!

I love the autumn as it means winter is on the way, and it makes me feel alive. I feel like everything just stops in the summer, and am waiting for winter to come.

Glad it's not just me- I feel like Smuggy McSmuggerson when everyone moans about the change in weather and have to fight to hide my delight.

Phew, I thought I was definitely freaky-me when nobody answered. I think the problem is that it's quite a hard thing to fix. (This is esp the case as I'm in NE Scotland and there are a few weeks in mid summer when it doesn't get dark at all.) Very dark curtains certainly help, but certainly don't sort everything out.
