Mental health

not good times

I feel very sad. Most days are fine but not all the time. DH is away two weeks out of four and whilst I manage to keep it together I don't always. Two very lovely DD's who are very hard work. Have been diagnosed with mild depression and been to counselling but not sure that's what it is. Feel counsellor was patronising and didn't really understand. Just had argument with husband who is overseas on business. Not good times.

Sorry to hear you're having a hard time. I'd find it really difficult if DH was away that much, so I don't think you're unusual to find it hard to manage sometimes.

How long has the counselling been going on? If you've given it a few sessions and it's not working for you, try saying something to the counsellor. Or see if you could get referred to a different counsellor.

I think it's quite a personal thing which counsellor will be able to help you.

For tonight, can you do something pampering and gentle for yourself once the DDs are in bed? Maybe a warm bath? Phone a friend?

Hope you get the RL help you need soon. Will DH being working this pattern indefinitely?
