hi,

anyone know of any good techniques for stopping negative thoughts constantly plaguing your mind? my head feels so busy i can't seem to get rid of the constant feeling that everything is meaningless, i am meaningless etc etc. stopped having panic attacks as i think my ad's are starting to kick in but these horrible thoughts are so tiring..

anyone?!

Nothing to offer but I experience similar.

I was diagnosed with PTSD some time ago and never did anything about it (aside from self-work).

I've wondered if my mind has slipped into the habit of reviewing every past negative experience relentlessly, then the feelings of worthlessness that follow...

I'm considering starting the AD's I've been offered, later today Confused

Sorry I cant help but you aren't alone.

I've had anxiety on and off for years, in fact as a child I was very anxious. never been able to work out why.

i have to say ad's have always worked for me in the past but whenever i have a child (which i have recently) it all comes up again. this time has been major bad. its preventing me from enjoying being outside, which has never really happened.

just got back from the supermarket which sadly enough i quite enjoy but had to leave quickly as felt that doom feeling.

sorry you're feeling bad too.

thank you for the link, just checked it out quickly. looks interesting :) i'm in the middle of having counselling but he's person centred not cbt. still good though.

I've abandoned half full shopping trolleys before now Blush, sorry to hear you had a difficult day.

I'm waiting for therapy, about to start ad's now.

I so wish I could turn it off too! One thought rambles into another and before I know it, I'm back in the pit.

I wish it was as simple as a single 'warning' word I could use on myself, to turn my thoughts elsewhere but I'm usually suffocating by the time I'm aware and then it always seems too late Hmm

I'm going to have a go with that site too (thanks SG) and sorry for hijacking in any way ohno.
