It’s Ds2 21st on Sunday and I’m thinking of getting a fitness tracker as one of his presents .
He’s only just got into exercising as he wants to be super fit for Mountain biking ( new hobby )
What should I buy ? Which is the best ?

I dunno about best. We've tried a load of different ones in this house & I really like my fitbit now whereas everyone else gets bored with theirs (Polar, cheap Chinese ones). The Fitbit dashboard is a lot better than many. But I may just be obsessive about tracking my sleep & heart-rate. DH rates his Garmin data, to be fair, and likes the Health app link up with Apple.

I suggest find reviews online (video, youtube) of the dashboards that are available, so you can see the interface you'd get with whatever app/device.

Totally depends what he wants it for. If he wants to use it for MTB, then a Garmin will be best. Fitbits, Apple watches, etc are no good for tracking rides or runs IME. A higher-end Garmin will track sleep, steps, heart rate etc too.
But if he's not bothered about accurate ride or run data then you'll get away with a Fitbit.

I’ve posted about this before but I’m more than a little bit in love with my Polar Ignite. Love the app and data it spits out. Love that it is multi-sport. It was very reasonably priced too.
YouTube is good for reviews.

I like my Suunto watch for tracking rides & runs, but the Suunto app isn't as good as some. Garmins are also popular for those sports.

I agree with the poster above that fitbit etc. won't be much good if he wants to use it for accurately tracking distance/speed on outdoor activities. They're not designed for that really.
