Working out at home

Hi

I need to work out at home. Kids in bed, husband at work. I used to love running but it was wrecking my knees, so I can’t do anything too high-impact on my knees. I’ve tried Pilates, which I liked, but found my legs were getting bigger! I loved the ministry of sound workout DVD and the Darcy Bussell dance DVD. But I need something new.

Any recommendations? Thanks!

Haven't worked out how to do links on my phone but google fitness blender. Free and so may workouts to choose from. You can search for types, length of time, what equipment you have etc

If you do work out at home how many times a week are you supposed to exercise? I have a cross trainer and rowing machine but due to a demanding job / kids I struggle to find the time to exercise.

Body weight training - burns more calories than cardio and all you need is your own body, no equipment! I've lost a stone in 3 months!

Ooh that sounds interesting! Where can I find it?

YouTube, or the NerdFitness blog is brilliant with loads of tips. Also Kayla Itsines on Instagram.

You do have to be dedicated though. I cut out all alcohol and sugar for 3 months alongside these routines 5 days pw.

Good luck!

Thanks. I don’t need drastic change. Just need to lose a few pounds I put on over summer and tone up. Sugar is my downfall!
