Hi, I've been training for a half marathon in February, and am injured. I haven't been able to run at all for 10 days and it looks like it will be at least another week until I can even think about running a short slow distance. Prior to being injured I had regularly run 10-12 miles. Can I still hope to do the half or pull out and wait until another event comes up later in the year? And how should I get back into training? I obviously can't go straight back at the level I'd built up to.

wotta bastard... I would look at something like Maffletone for building back up, but there's loads to research how to recover from injury. What is injured?

Hi, just to update, not very exciting but have been running for about a month now keeping distances relatively short. It's been a long and tricky tendon injury unfortunately. Just think I've learned a lesson from not strength training or varying surfaces enough. Am doing more trail running now, less about time and more fun!
