Exercise

help me to find to find some exercise I can build into my life - max 20-30 mins from home

I have not done sport for years and want to change that. I am pretty unfit, almost 40 but no health restrictions otherwise

I have max 30 mins a day, 20 mins more realistic. due to circumstances, I can only exercise whilst being at home - so no running, swimming, gym classes or so possible.

I want to get fitter, tone up. Where do I start? pretty clueless. Confused

Try HIIT (high intensity interval training) there's loads of them on YouTube . Joe Wicks' videos are some of tihe best and are around 25 min .good luck x

I really like Jillian Michaels DVDs. I've got both "the 30 day shred" and "6 week six pack". I did the shred DVD three times a week before I got married and noticed a massive difference. As a Physio I thought it would be manageable for people of all sizes and abilities. It's very deceptive though; you'll be sweating pretty quick! Good luck Smile

Yes, Jiillian Michaels 30 day shred fits nicely into your time requirements - its on You Tube so easy to do.

I did it religiously a couple of years ago and it made a big difference. Then I lapsed and am getting back into it.

Run! 20-30 minutes start to finish. Have a look at couch to 5k - it really does start very gently. Loads of "graduates" on here.

I second Joe Wicks, The Body Coach. I've been doing the food from his book and a combination of his HIIT workouts on YouTube and Davina's Fit in 15 for a month. I've dropped a dress size and am a lot more toned already, plus I enjoy it which is an unexpected bonus!

I third Joe Wicks. He's hardcore and it's like torture for 20 mins, but of all the things I've tried, his HIITs have had the most radical effect on my health and how I look. I complement the HIITs with weights a few times a week. I do these at home. It's worth looking into getting yourself a good cheap set of weights and a couple of kettle bells. Little and often and you will see results.

I don't mind Jillian Michaels' exercises but her style really grates on me 'don't phone it in', oh shut up!

I think I might alternate Shred with Joe Wicks for a bit of variety.
