Well done you!! You must be well chuffed. Though being overtaken by a rhino isn't good grin

I am seeing a sports physio on Thursday, not been able to run for over 4 weeks now and starting to go slightly mad. Let's hope she can sort me out (this injury is costing a fortune mind you, £100 for new trainers and now £40 a go for physio. Isn't running supposed to be cheaper than going to the gym?)

Yippee - is it the GSR you are doing? That was my Half Marathon too, pulled out but still doing the Junior Run with the kids on the Saturday. Good luck anyway!

In the end, it only rained for half an hour, so weather was fine. I did it in 2 hours 18, which was slightly slower than I'd hoped for but was more concerned with staying at a comfortable pace and keeping going. Next time I'll set a pace on my watch.

But on the upside, I didn't walk or stop at all, and didn't feel like dying at the end. And I don't feel too bad today.

Worst bit was all the waiting around beforehand. And being overtaken by a rhino!

Oh no purple, just saw your post about your bursitis, that's rubbish sad Hope it's better soon.

Yes, how did you get on? And I'm running my first half marathon in about 3 weeks, so any tips would be appreciated smile

So, how did it go Dibbler? Did you survive? smile

Thanks Purplerunner - looks like the rain will hold off till half way through now, so I'll have had time to warm up smile

Hope the hip clears up soon, bursitis is a pita

Personally I wouldn't bother with the jacket, just the sleeves and cap (to keep the rain out of your eyes). Your skin is waterproof, you'll be fine.

I'm jealous as was supposed to be doing my first half marathon in 3 weeks time but have had to withdraw as I've developed bursitis in my hip. Going mad not being able to run sad

Good luck!

A better look than a couch potato!

You should be proud - it's an amazing achievement

Thanks Furball, I will take pics, but will look like a drowned beetroot!

No words of wisdom - but sending you lots of luck!

Can't wait to hear all about it - and don't forget a few piccys.

I don't mind a bit of drizzle, but its going to be windy and lashing it down on current forecast.

Am now channeling my nerves into trying to decide if I try and tough it out in running top, capris and arm sleeves or if I need the waterproof jacket and a cap <wibble>.

I also have the problem of keeping my non functional arm warm enough that the pain from that doesn't get too much.

Any words of wisdom?
