Ironic really but the mayor of Calais has said that she no longer wants to pay/enforce the border controls on the French side of the Channel (and why should she?) Rather than fewer migrants, this result has literally opened the gates.

Having said that, this was always a pretty foreseeable consequence of a Brexit vote.

What Mackeral said. In fact he (Cazeneuve) sat pretty firmly on Macron (economy minister) when the latter floated the idea of an end to the Le Touquet agreement.

Personally I don't think we should wait. Do it now as the French want and accept the consequences. Sink into a recession. We don't deserve them to help us make it easier. DH and I will be fine. Secure jobs and good equity and savings.
Ebbw Vale in Wales. Close to 40% unemployment. Due to being on the EU's most deprived list, they have benefitted massively with huge amount of infrastructure and a new link rd. The EU send to them vastly more than they send to the EU yet they voted overwhelmingly to leave citing immigration of which there is virtually none locally. Well I look forward to seeing them sink down the hole whist they wait for their London centric right wing PM to remember them.
