I dont know if you are all aware, but, as of 1st October 2007 the statutory minimum holiday entitlement goes up 4.8 weeks or 24 days for those working a 5 day week.

From the 1st April 2009, there will be a second increase to 5.6 weeks or 28 days.

This is to include bank holiday, not in addition to it, unless your contract of employment states otherwise.

It can be absorbed into bank holidays, should your employer wish, but they must write and notify you.

Just thought I'd let you all know, make sure you get your extra 1 day this year, and extra 4 (if you dont get them already) as from next year.

Check your contract.....

If it says x number of days per annum AND bank holidays, then you are sorted

Sorry to jump in...
Whoops if your contract says you get 'current statutory minimum plus bank holidays in addition' (or something) then you could argue you should get the extra days as the statutory minimum has gone up. I doubt it would say that though.
If your contract says [number of days] plus bank holidays (more likely), as long as the total number of days you get adds up to 24 or more (assuming you are f/t), it wouldn't affect you.
