I've not posted on this topic before but I'm still pinching myself! I've been keeping an eye on Stokke Xplory pushchairs for about a month and even used ones never go for less than ?350. This one was from an American seller (has 5 diff prams still on there - also all ridiculously low). The buy it now price was the same as the start price for bidding so I bought it now! All listed today. Seller's feedback seems fine, postage only ?22 from USA. Nothing now can go wrong..... can it???

I wont believe it's true till i have it mind you!
How long do you reckon they should take to ship?
Most ofhis feedback is for buying not selling too! but hey what the heck its worth a risk

tbh it looks dodge to me accoujt not used since july, now lists a load of prams?

and it wont be £22 from america to ship. it costs that to post a p3 pramette in the UK.

I agree - the whole thing looks like a textbook-case hijacked account

Report
misdee · 30/11/2006 12:44

no, ebay have changed it so any bids over £100 on any item it automatically goes to private listing.

Report
Piffle · 30/11/2006 12:46

okies misdee
Still def think this is hijacked account
Not sure what paypal can do about it tbh as people empty the accounts, close it and leg it.

Alert you girls
It is FRAUD
I emailed the seller (emails still go to the right person)
He said this

I am not selling anything on ebay. Sales using this email address are considered fraud and should be reported immediately to ebay security.
You girls need to report it ASAP
ctc your credit card company NOW to try and stop the payment.
I hope none of you paid and get your money back

Errm - yes I did - HOWEVER - thoroughly scared (and rightly so!) by you lot I have duly phoned PayPal and established that even if their account closes I will get at least £105 back under Ebay protection, which I can live with. I have also had my concerns registered against my account, which should ensure I get the full amount back when the time comes as the sellers account is not closed as yet, and is, according to PayPal, a "legitimate" account.

I have also asked PayPal to report this group of sales to Ebay to look into straight away, which they are doing.

Still hope it's ok though - I want the pushchair!

GGF - oh no! If you lodge a complaint through paypal now they will withhold the money from his account - do it now!!! Do it through paypal not ebay first - you can then say dispute not resolved and he doesn't get money. Good luck hun!
