ok sorry to be pathetic and birdy but I truely can no longer be arsed with this. We need a new car (not brand new) bigger then current one which will take 3 car seats in back

am thinking along lines of (god forbid) a mummy bus because we travel to ireland a lot and take massive amount of stuff and dog

so which is it and why : ford galaxy/ citreon c4 grand picasso/kia sedona blah blah blah

dh won't care one bit because if I make final decision here and its crap I get the blame

Jeremy Clarkston where are you when I need you?!?

Get a diesel or the running costs of the petrol will bankrupt you...diesel gives you more per gallon than petrol.
We have a Ford Galaxy btw

its a diesel we're looking for I just hate the final decision being down to me as although I'll be the one driving it most on matty leave after summer when am back at work he'll be taking his shot too
its a lot of money to be making decisions about and I don't want to make the wrong one

thinking galaxy or citreon c4 grand picasso top of list at moment

I have a Renault Grand Scenic - 7 seater.

I have had no problems with relaibiltiy and the interior is enormous, comfortable and relatively stylish (if on the utilitarian side)

french diesels are generally good strong engines (though mine is a petrol)

The 2 rear seats are very dinky but they do have proper 3pt seatbelts

Ford Galaxy. French cars are more expensive to service and for parts etc...or at least they used to be . My dh won't buy Renault or Citroen for this reason.....

I wouldn't have the grand scenic if I needed the car to be a full time 7 seater. 90% of the time, my 2 rear seasts are down and we make use of the ENORMOUS load space.

Cappuccino · 19/02/2008 11:47

we got a citroen berlingo - not the prettiest vehicle but beat the Picasso hands down when it comes to boot space/price

and we have wheelchair/ walking aids/ all kinds of crap to fit in it

it took 3 car seats in the back last time I looked

Cappuccino · 19/02/2008 11:48

oh and it is a diesel

don't need all 7 seats all of the time but when we do it has to either take adults comfortably or child seats and as much as I like look of renault grand scenic I don't think it does?

Dizzy I was on another thread about someone running over animals bird etc and my lovely wife pointed out on it that when I was a (young) child I fed my hamster to my dog. Hence hamster killer.

NomDePlume · 19/02/2008 12:31

no, it doesn't. You'd need the Espace for that

peanutbear what car says it only has 3point belts on 6 of the seats and lap belts in the middle? is that right? I would want to use it mainly first (obviously ) and second row with 3rd on occassion so need 3x3point belts in back row?
does the 3rd row fold down or have to be lifted out, we don't have a garage so have nowhere to store the extra seats if they have to come out
