Dh is wrongly calling it a hurl. I correctly call it a hurley. For context, I have munster heritage, he's from just outside the pale. It's come to a head as ds has just started at the local gaa academy and dh is just trying to piss me off

Hurley is the proper name but a lot of people shorten it to hurl. I live in a very strong hurling area..not in Munster..and everyone calls it a hurl. So ye will have to differ and see what the coach calls it.

DH, a proud Munster man & hurling obsessive, has just informed me that hurl is in fact correct in some parts of the country, Kilkenny for example. Who knew?
