Dundrum vs Blanch - wedding guest outfit

I hate shopping but my online efforts haven't paid off and I need something anything to wear to a wedding on Saturday. Am I better off going to dundrum or blanch? The thought of either brings me out in a cold sweat, but I'll have to be brave or naked.

Sorry! If I'd seen this is would have said Dundrum.

What happened in the end?

Also, for future reference, Gorey.

Gorey? That's a bit left field 😅

Is there good shopping in Gorey?

What's Blanch?

I go to dundrum for HoF - hope you got something

Oddly, for occasion dressing, yeah. There's a great shop called la creme, apparently they come from all over the country. There's another really good boutique on the same street whose name escapes me.

Dundrum! They have every shop there.
Blanch if you're broke though as it has more 'cheap' shops. Ive only been to Blanch twice and I wouldnt go back to buy clothes.

I hate both places. Possibly not helpful. Though if I had to I'd go to the nearest to me.

Was the wedding Saturday as in today? You were cutting it fine!!

Oh blimey, Saturday as in today!?

Depends on your budget, Blanch has a lot more high street brands, I like the variety. Although, I live 5 mins from Dundrum so spend silly amounts of time there wandering around the shops. Monsoon, House of Fraser and Coast are normally where I start off.

No,wedding was not today Grin. Today was supposed to be for shopping but due to husband related fuckology I didn't get anywhere.

I hate both of them too, Tizzy so never go. Which causes a problem when I do need to go and have no idea what is actually there!

It seems dundrum is the better
place to try so, thanks all. I'll keep Gorey in mind for a less time sensitive and much less stressful event.

My m&d love gorey!
They go there every now and then and talk about the style they could live in if they relocated! My mum told me the shops and cafes are nice.

What shops do you like? Or have you seen anything online that you'd fancy trying? If hitting Dundrum I'd recommend a Monday or Tuesday evening - they're open late and it is extra quiet

Gorey great for shopping, particularly occasion shopping.
Lovely shops there.
I prefer Dundrum to Blanch- it's very spread out.

Well worth ordering stuff into store at HoF

Blowin Blanch is Blanchardstown which is to the west of the city.

I never knew Gorey was such a centre of sartorial elegance! 👗👘

I haven't found anything I like, Phyllis. Well, that's not true, I bought three dresses, a top, a skirt and a jumpsuit that I've brought back. I have two pairs of trousers that I could wear if I could find a top for either, but that's a huge challenge as I've ginormo boobs and everything remotely nice is either backless, strapless or cropped, so hangs like a tent. I have spent the last week scouring the websites of HoF, debenhams, monsoon, Massimo dutti, h&m, Zara, topshop, and coast. I dropped into Dunnes, Lisa Perkins/Pamela Scott (I never know if they are the same or different) and a couple of small boutiquey places.

I'm possibly making things harder for myself by being bolshy because I hate everything and I would very happily not go to the wedding at all but I have to .

MrsL, how long does it take for things to arrive in HoF? I'm a bit wary of trying to buy online at this stage with the lack of post on Friday.

Have a look on the outnet. Way nicer than anything you'll find in Dundrum and also will be unique

Do you want suggestions? The gang over on style and beauty are great for finding stuff... or if you want to join me in wine, Doritos and Casualty Mrs Brown I'll budge up on couch 🍸

And I will probably be in Dundrum again tomorrow so if I find the holy grail of naice top, I will trigger the MN signal

Dundrum has Coast & HoF & Hobbs which would be suitable for wedding guests.
Blanchardstown has Debenhams & a Dunnes Stores that has the new ranges along with Next and a small M&S. It also has a big BT2.
If I were you, I'd not got to either - I'd park in the Jervis Shopping Centre (or get the Luas into town) and shop on Henry Street. You have a huge Debenhams and Arnotts.

If you are big of boobage, why not see if there is a top to go with the trousers you have on Bravissimo.com perhaps?

Shopping centres are my idea of hell so I'd head for town too. Arnotts on Henry Street and then back over God's true country, the Southside, for BTs, Powerscourt Centre etc.

Can you hit Dundrum early?? I find it cope-able when it's just opened at 9, and then I'm out by 11 (or I need therapy).

Between easter holidays and work I definitely won't get into town but I'll see if I can get to Dundrum on Monday night. Once I stop sulking, I'll probably find something Hmm thanks for all the helpful suggestions Wine
