...listen to this ICU dr on LBC

Or search Dr Jack on LBC

In Summary

  • beds in his ICU are FULL already
  • health workers are putting their lives on the line for you and some will die
  • in the world wars teenagers lied about their ages and were willing to fight and die
  • you’re being asked to sit on your sofa and at a time when technology makes this is easier than ever
  • no more thanks from the gov to the front line staff- they don’t want thanks-they need you to stay at home, they want to work without being abused by the public, they need equipment and someone where to sit and have a coffee

-if you go to out unnecessarily, you will be killing people

Some people are selfish morons and we'll end up with troops on the street watercannoning people into their own homes and food ration books because there seem to be a higher proportion of despicable cretins in this country than anywhere else in Europe.

I can’t understand why we don’t at least try these “draconian” measures and try and save people.

The Dr was so eloquent but furious. He pretty much said there will be no point in the pubs as there will be no one left to use them.

As for the damage that could be caused by people on Mothers Day- he didn’t have the words.

Blame the government primarily for not implementing lockdown weeks ago. It beggars belief that they still haven't. People clearly are too stupid to follow this guidance themselves.

Am so worried for the few months. I also feel like the nhs staff will be put under unbelievable stress and strain, which like you say could’ve been prevented. If people think this is life changing for themselves, what on earth do they think it’s going to be like for the nurses and drs?!!

I don’t know if anyone is specifically blaming the young or old, EVERYBODY needs to listen.

That was heartbreaking to listen to. I hope it helps.

Wasn’t it just puppymouse? Thanks so much for taking the time to listen. The more people who change their behaviour because of it, the more people it will save

Agree op
Such an easy message yet so many blockheads.

@Smilethoyourheartisbreaking it’s because of unclear public advice that groups have had to be demonised in the media to keep public order.

First we were told it’s only the elderly who were at risk to keep the working population calm, then the stories appeared clarifying all age groups suffer. Now it’s the turn of Londoners who clearly don’t want to see how serious it is that they play their part.

The whole thing should never have been minimised in the way it has been and now the only way to get the message through seems to be to invoke blame within society and hope that peer pressure will save the day Hmm

Thanks for your support MarshaBradyo - (great name btw)

Would like to know why the government doesn’t shut the pubs/restaurants or at the very least don’t allow people in but let them deliver food etc.

Great analysis Cornettoninja- I believe you are right. Takes the responsibility from the government to you and your neighbours.

Thanks @saveourpeople, I can’t believe how so much of this has been handled with ‘advisories’ and ‘suggestions’. It needs firm direction but the powers that be aren’t quite ready to accept that the gravy train has well and truly crashed and that people will only take note when made to. They’re so afraid of blame and financial losses if they take ownership of what needs to be done they’re stalling. Which is pointless because it’s going to have to happen anyway - it’s frustrating that we can all clearly see what’s going on in other countries and the reality of it all.

You’ve summed it up perfectly.

All I can think of is that they’re delaying until people are desperate to do it- reverse psychology on a massive scale.
