Implantation Bleeding

Ok ladies - I know I'm clutching at straws here.. but humour me..

How heavy can implantation bleeding be? I had what was like a very light period for a day and a half but it has completely stopped now. Sorry if TMI - but filled about 2 pads. It included some red gloopy blood just like a normal period and wasn't just the pink or brown blood that most people talk about in reference to implantation bleeding..

I reckon I ovulated about 10 days prior to the start of the bleeding and therefore was suprised at AF starting so soon.. so I hoped it was implantation bleeding.. but it seemed too heavy and so I resigned myself to the fact that it was AF however now it has stopped completely..

I don't want to be a nut job and test again.. but I'm interested in hearing other peoples experience of implantation bleeding.

Also if I were to test - how long after implantation to the hcg levels get high enough?

Deep down I know it probably just a screwed up AF ( I have just come off the pill ) but any info would be gratefully received.

Ta

Hi toomuch
I would think it's probably a period, just shorter because of coming off the pill. Don't have any experience of implantation bleeding myself but it sounds like too much (no pun intended) fresh blood to be implantation (but only based on what I have read on here)
What were your periods like on the pill? Were they similar to this? If so I'd suspect that it's still in your system to some extent.
Sorry if that's not the answer you wanted!

Hi there toomuch. I've experienced implantation bleeding twice now. The 1st was back on Xmas day last year: it was only a tiny dot of blood just the once, that's it on 10 dpo. I really thought AF was coming and got myself very upset but when AF didn't arrive 2 days later, I tested and it was BFP. Unfortunately I m/c at 12wks in Feb.

I'm pg again, just found out last Wed. Had a bit of bleed on the Mon evening but this time it was slightly more than a dot. It really looked like AF was on it's way so much so that I put on tampon the next morning. Again I was surprised that it wasn't full flowing on the Wed morning and decided to test, BFP! I guess the bleed I had on Mon pm (it was 11 dpo must be implantation bleeding.

I must admit that I never test unless I'm late. Probably because I always spot 3 days prior to AF arriving. So I was always pre-warned and had my chance to rant and rave at DH and the world before Aunty arrives full force . With both pgs, the BFP was quite faint but it's definitely there.

I am only 5+1 today, very early days yet and have been very anxious since the BFP result as was spotting lightly until about the w/end. It has finally stopped thankfully. But I don't think I will ever be able to rest my mind until I have the baby in my arms!

HTH and good luck! Baby dust all round

Deep down I know it was probably AF - I think I just want more info on implantation bleeding because I can't cope with AF not being the cut off point every month!! I mean if I keep wondering even after AF arrives it's going to be constant!

My periods were never heavy on the pill but much longer and heavier than the bleeding I've just had..

What happened with Spugs again? I'll have to go and re-read the thread..

what i would do is start temping as then you will know more whats going on. Do you know what CD day you started bleeding?? as you have just come off the pill I would say its your system sorting itself out

thanks too much. will need all the luck that i can get .

hope it's not TMI but you can see spots of fresh blood on tissue when wiped. very light pink with no blobs or anything. i guess it's as much as the bleeding you get when you accidently cut your fingers slightly with a knife chopping vegetables!

What a well timed thread...just the thing that's buzzing round in my head at the mo. I think I'm dpo10 but I base that on EWCM and sore boobs at the time that the online calculators saying I would be ovulating (I haven't used opks or temped) Today and yesterday I've had slight periody cramps and a tiny bit of brown spotting (hardly enough to even use a pad, nothing more than a smudge). My periods usually get going more quickly than this. Of course, having just come off the pill it could be the start of a period, even quite a strange post pill messed up period I suppose. Although I only took the pill for 2 months anayway. I guess I'll just have to wait and see what happens

luchinka - it's really hard isn't it! I'm not sure I can keep wondering like this so I've decided I'm CD3 and that's that!!

Good luck with yours though - hope you get your BFP!

I think it may be a precursor to a period, as the internet says Implantation bleeding is not very common. Still not really enough to call it a period though. Just going to have to be patient. Got loads of work to do, it might take my mind off all this nonsense. Good luck next month toomuch !

bah....implantation my arse! CD1 for me. At least I know where I stand and that after the pill my period has turned up more or less when I expected it.

Luchinka! At least both our AFs appear to be straight back to normal after coming of the pill which is good news! Here's to another month of bding !!

Well that's one thing I suppose! Another month of sex .
I think because you have it so drummed into you from so young that "one slip and you'll be a teenage mum" that I can't quite believe that I've been having unprotected sex all month and nothing's happened!

Although really I know that's ridiculous and I know what all the averages for conception are. Also my mum got pregnant immeadiately with both me and my brother and I think although I'd realised it might not happen straight away I sort of expected it to somehow.

Luchinka - I know exactly what you mean.. I laugh now when I think of using condoms for a week becuase I was a few hours late taking a pill.. it's comical isn't it!

As much as I knew all the statistics and had said to myself that it was very unlikely to happen first month it's still hard to accept the arrival of AF - particularly when you are so hormonal at the time! Hope I calm down a bit now that the excitement of the first month is over

Hi Ladies im going to crash this topic instead of creating a new one hope you dont mind.

I have a very regular 28 day cycle. I had lots of brown discharge and slight bleed on CD22. after that ive had nothing..im now on CD37. dont have any other symtoms.

Every single period ive had ive bleed very heavy so this is really unlike me...But i have done about 8 tests all different makes and different days. all BFN....what should i do??

Do you think id be best to go visit my gp?

Many thanks,Jenna

Hi just wondered if I could pick your brains. Have been ttc since march but to no avail. Have had fairly short cycles around 23-26 days. Did ovulation calculators which said most fertile days were 7th to 15th june. This would make me 8 days post ovulation. When I went to toilet today and wiped I had a very light pink discharge. Sorry for tmi, but it was not enough to use a pad only there when I wiped and gone now but I have a slight dull stomach ache. Have never had implantation bleed with my other children have got three girls, but do remember getting the dull ache even though I was pregnant!
Wot do you think, am really unsure cos if it is the dreaed period then it's only day 17 so how messed up is that??

Auntie Flo and it probably isn't on the acronyms list as we banned it along with baby dancing for being ridiculous. Grin

Oh!! Thank you - also DPO?! I'm not very good at figuring these out!!

This is my second BFP (got that one lol) - last one was 12 years ago! I had a slight bleed on Friday morning and was advised it is probably an implantation bleed. I'm 6 weeks and had never heard of this before so it was very scary for us both.

So thanks to all for the posts - it is helping to reassure us though it still feels a little like being stuck in limbo. Will be keeping everything crossed that it's all ok Smile

days past ovulation.

Stick around. I've been here 6yrs and the acronyms come easily after about 3 and a half years. Grin

Congratulations on your pregnancy. Something like 40% of women bleed in early pregnancy. Very common.
