I was on the depo from August-December 2016. Had constant AF throughout that time, then a regular AF January & February. DH & I started trying in March, I've had no AF in March & still no signs this month either. I haven't tried ovulation tests yet but I have done a pregnancy test, it came back negative. I'm a little concerned that AF went from regular to suddenly stopping. This morning I woke up feeling nauseaous, back pain & constipated. The nausea stopped around midday but the constipation is still there. I'm taking folic acid & have been since January.

Anyone else conceived after the depo?

It can take up to a year to ovulate again after depo bit hopefully it will happen for you sooner than that

The depo can really mess with your cycles, and it can take quite a while for them to normalise again after. Quite commonly you can get symptoms that mimic pregnancy when the hormones are leaving your body. I think quite often gp's won't do any bloods until you've had no period for 2-3 months so it might be a case of waiting it out, you could go and see what they say though? Some people conceive immediately after coming off depo and for others it takes 18 months+ for their fertility to return, it was something I was told before I started on it. I had my last injection 2 years ago, swapped to mini pill, came off the pill in June and no hint of a bfp here yet. Hopefully it'll all settle down soon for you.

Took me 2 years I'm afraid. Posted my full history on a similar thread recently if you want to see.

Thank you ladies for your replies, they've been very helpful. I'm amazed it can take so long for your cycle to return despite how little injectections you've had.

Dappled - id love to read your posts on it please.

Hi! I literally posted the same reply to a similar question so I have copied & pasted 🙈 hope you don't mind ! But there is hope after the depo - it can just be a long hard slog.

""I was on the depo for 2 years. Came off April 2015. First period September 2015. Don't think I started ovulating until May 2016. Got a BFP in December 2016 but miscarried at 5 weeks. Just become pregnant again & currently 4weeks+4days.
Hoping this one will stick!

So in all 2ish years. I'm not going to lie - it was a hard slog, especially when everyone else around me seemed to be pregnant Or get pregnant so easily.

The depo was the worst decision of my life wouldn't ever recommend it Sad""

Good luck! Smile
