Hi,

Sorry I have never posted in here before so not sure if I'm doing it right :)

Basically I had sex on the 15th September with the OH. My last period was 8th sept. I am due on in the next 5-6 days but for the last 3 days have been feeling really sick in the morning and was sick this morning. I'm extremely tired and always needed a wee and over the last 2 weeks I have been off my food. Is there a chance I could be pregnant.

I have 2 children already and the morning sickness was showing straight away and I was really ill with it so could it show this early if I was?

I have also stopped smoking 3 days ago so I thought the patches may be causing my sickness, but I had the patches on around 2 weeks ago for a week and wasn't sick once and I can't seem to find any info that would lead the patches to give you sickness in the morning.

Any advice or help would be grateful! Thank you x

Yes you could be, you but you also may not be. Only one way to find out.

Would it be too early to test? Apparently I'm due on my period around the 7th of this month so 3 days away or should I wait till I'm due? Xthanks

That's up to you really, you maybe ok to test but if its negative and you still feel sick then you may need to retest.

Personally I've found cheap supermarket tests the most accurate and if you have symptoms it may show. It's your call.

I agree with Cupcake.

You could test early, get a negative and wait a few days then retest if your period doesn't show up.

Or you could test early, get a positive and celebrate :) (assuming this is good news!)

I've always found First Response good for early testing. Good luck!

Well silly me calculated my periods wrong! From the dates I have found I am due on tomorrow/Saturday. That makes my most fertile days the 15th-20th September - 15th September being when we had sex.

Oh yes it's very good news if I am. I only want 1 more child as my 2 are a handful as it is lol :) will go and get a test. Knowing me its just me thinking I am but don't understand the sickness. Only one way to find out! X thanks x

Just did a test and came up negative. The test I did though was the ones from the 1st day of your missed period which isn't till this weekend. Would it still show up that I was pregnant if I was being so close to my period? Little bit gutted now :( x

What brand did you use? They all have different levels to detect hCG. I know how you feel too well, been in your shoes before x

I used a tesco one, 2 in the pack in a blue box. Was told that the supermarket ones are just as good but have just ordered a clear blue one so will wait and see. Maybe my symptoms are just non smoking related. X

Well have been sick again this morning, having a few very very light cramps so it may be my period is coming. I don't know :( feel sick as a dog and don't know why. Going to wait till Monday and if period hasn't come then will test again. If period had come then will head to the doctors and find out why every morning I am throwing up but not pregnant. :/ x

How are you mummyoftwo12?

I think the Tesco tests detect about 25ml, but First Response about 10ml which is why I was asking.

Any signs of the dreaded AF yet?

I'm ok thank you :) still no period! I know I'm due in between Friday and today! Still feeling extremely sick in the morning. Right at this moment I'm feeling really sick but just drinking tea to suppress it. Only thing that helps. My breasts are tender but not as tender as if my period was coming today, they are normally so sore I cannot touch them.

I took a clear blue yesterday and that come up negative. If Af doesn't come tomorrow then will do another one but I don't have any signs of it coming today as I normally get extremely bad cramps, so bad I have to take nurofen and a hot water bottle for the first day. All the symptoms would suggest pregnant but I'm not getting my hopes up as I will probably come on tomorrow!! Lol x x

Also it's very unusual for my period to come late as its like clockwork! my period on the 6/7 September - 28 day cycle so that works out my period was due 4/5th October which was thurs/fri but have given a few days. I was on Holiday between the 4th and 11th August and I came on the 10th so I had my period the next month and then expecting it to come this week and it still hasn't so it's just very weird! Just a waiting game! Which I hate :(

Also WeAreSix , you have said about the levels the tests detects - I don't understand- is 10ml good or bad? X

It detects a lower level of the hormone, that's how it works so early x

I'd second a First Response (early response). They are more sensitive. Imagine it like this: FRER are sensitive to 10ml/U compared to Tesco at 25ml/U. Clearblue I believe are about 100ml/U. So to get a positive on a clearblue you'd have to have at least 100 of the hcg hormone in your urine to get a positive. With a FRER, you'd only need 10, so it's 10 times more sensitive. That's why some tests will claim they can be used before AF is due - they detect the hormone even at a very low level soon after conception.
I also preferred the pink dye tests. Less questionable! I got fuzzy BFPs on Internet cheapies but a clear BFP with a FRER 2 days before AF was expected. I didn't try with a clearblue until a few days after AF was due.

Ok well I took the test and came back negative. Have had more cramps today but no period! It's very odd as the only time I actually get cramping is when I'm on my first day. Its a very weird cramping also, like throbbing/pulsing/aching.

I was hoping for positive and all the signs point to positive but it came up negative. :(

Hi Mummyoftwo12, in the same boat as you really. Due on about now really, but had what I can only describe as period pains/ovary pains for over a week which is rather longer than I normally do. Very tempted to do a test but as only 2nd month of trying and I'm 41, I would be amazed if it was positive so I'm trying to assume my period will begin later to avoid disappointment. Good luck to you x

That's what I'm just thinking- late period so I don't get my hopes up. Its hard though as all the symptoms point to it but until I get my period I will just wait it out x good luck for your tests x fingers crossed!! X

Hi mummyoftwo & jksfii, I'm another one here in the same boat, AF a couple of days late but have felt crampy type period like pains over last few days so keep expecting it make an appearance but nothing yet. Felt a bit sick this week as well but did last month before AF arrived so don't want to read too much into that. Plan to test tomorrow morning if still no sign of AF.
Mummyoftwo it's worth re-testing again, with my 1st (sadly ended in MMC), the test showed negative 2 days after AF due and only came up positive a few days later. Keeping fingers crossed this time after a 2nd MMC earlier this year although don't want to get my hopes up too much yet, suspect AF may just be a little late.

Still nothing this morning. Extreme nausea and have been sick! Hot flushes this morning and no AF, have slight cramping again and negative test!! Argh just hurry up and come if she is coming! So frustrating. The other half is so cool about it, he just says oh it looks like we are having another baby then and there's me here constantly wondering what is going on. Men have it easy lol!
