Just a wee message to say hi to you all :)

I'm TTC with my partner. Came off the pill beginning of last month, have had one bleed since then only lasting 4 days (very heavy for 2 days though :( ouch). Already we're finding the BDing a bit awkward because there's a 'reason' to do it! Rather than just because we feel like it. Any tips on how to keep it all lovely?

We're both 25, i have DS (8) from a previous relationship.

Thanks guys :)

Hello! I am trying to conceive too! My OH is 7,000 miles away so I will be flying out Feb for One hell of a booty call! He comes back here in march. We have a DS who is 2 and a half. I am currently trying to lose 2 stone before feb. So far lost 1 stone and a bit.
Are you taking vitamins yet?

Hi penguin & sucks....good luck to you both. Me & DH are ttc baby no2...we already have a DS 17 months. We have been ttc since Oct/Nov but I have had previous health problems since labour so very sheepish at times!

Hello wifey I had Pre eclampsia and a Emergency c-section. My original hospital missed this and I swapped at the last minute as I knew I wasn't right. The new hospital kept me in there and then for a induction.
So fingers crossed we will all have an easier time second time round. Smile

Hi all, me too!- Sucks, my DH may as well be 7,000 miles away as we are so rubbish at the BD!!! Angry

We have DD who is nearly 3 and have been trying since we had her (well okay maybe 6 or 7 months later!) but not 'trying' very often really, as DH doesn't like the idea of trying and thinks it should all be spontaneous and romantic...Hmm So I may well be on here just to moan about him!! So penguin I kind of know where you are coming from and sympathise. Not sure if I have any advice mind as we are in the same boat!

hiya sucks, no I haven't, was actually just googling earlier - what would you suggest? Is it 400mg of folic acid per day? I actually have no clue - I was 17 when I had DS and didn't find out until i was about 22/23 weeks gone - massive shock and had no symptoms at all - well looking back, "upset tummy" etc but I kept bleeding (lightly) throughout so just kind of assumed all was fine IYSWIM. So really I'm entirely new to all of this!

Also trying to lose weight - on my way downstairs to "shred" actually - argh I hate it but I've put on far too much weight and feel very rubbish. Even if just to make me feel even slightly sexy again!!!

Thanks for the thoughts wifey and dandare. OH is actually pretty good about it and gives me lots of cuddles, massages etc - but when it comes to actually DTD we kind of get a bit awkward - think it's all the pressure, even though we're not in a rush or anything.

Already worrying about giving birth Confused. Last time wasn't too bad, just long, but I have a lot of not great memories and sadness associated with it. LO stopped breathing after he was born which has been one of the scariest moments of my life so far, and I didn't enjoy being in hospital at all. But hey - a long, long, long way away yet ;)

Thanks for replying :) x

Small steps, penguin, small steps!! Let's do the creating bit and then worry about the getting it out bit later!! Smile
Sounds grim re your last experience but there's always the hope that lightning won't strike twice!

I do believe that the best advice is the relax one, impossible tho it seems. We did it last time after a mc, had one cycle and then conceived, I think purely cos we had given up and were coming to terms with none.

If you are affectionate and 'active' Blush anyway then try to think that what will be will be! (easy to say I know)

Thanks dandare Smile

I am trying sooo hard to relax. Going to focus on losing weight for the moment I think. Have just started couch-to-5k (actually went out for a run just after I last posted) - I never thought I'd enjoy running. Well, can't say I enjoy it, but didn't hate it as much as I thought...!

Need to have a shower then go pick up OH from work. LO having a sleepover at my mum's tonight so will go and have a shower and make myself look nice (ish!) :)

My OH is in Argentina,

I am vegetarian so I took a Pre natal and a omega 3 as I don't eat fish either.

penguin I'm so sorry, that must've been awful. No wonder you are a bit wobbly. I'm sure it will all be fine. X

Hiya sucks, I guess you're right - prenatal care vits will be better than just folic acid - should've thought of that! What a shame your DH is so far away :( does he work away or live there?

He is from Argentina and I will be moving out there eventually. He works here march-sept. Then we normally head out there for the winter.

Hope everybody has a 'successful' weekend Grin

Hi all- a tip for you... Sit with your hips up (a pillow underneath) and legs up after the deed is done! Not sure if it works but helps things along I think! Good luck ladies Wink

Hi everyone,

Me and dh are ttc soon, well I would say just after Xmas. Would love to start now but have to be a bit mindful of my friends wedding as I'm maid of honour and don't wanna be too big (if and when it happens) to fit in my dress, they get married at the end of march!

I came off my pill and have had one period so far. Ive been reading up that it's best to have a natural one before u concieve.

Good luck everyone x

Hello jbad
Will this one be your first? I heard that it was better to wait til your cycle was regular too. I am ready getting excited. Smile

jbadgirl · 04/12/2011 17:37

Hi sucks,

No this isn't my first, I had a little boy in 2004. Sadly he passed away in 2007 due to a rare genetic syndrome.

We have a 1 in 4 chance each pregnancy of having a child with the same condition

Oh jbad, that's so sad. Big hugs. Good luck to you :)

If the bleed I had was a "real" period then apparently I ovulated today, but I have no idea of my cycle (pretty sure it's short as I used to bleed a lot) so had to guess at 28 days. We'll see. No funny feelings or anything yet so heyho! x

Jbad I'm so sorry. My friend just had a baby with a genetic disorder. It is very rare and they are flying new drugs over from America to see if their will be any improvement. Hopefully this will aid all the research that is going towards improving treatments.

I hope all goes well for you xxx

Report
jbadgirl · 05/12/2011 00:04

Thankyou x unfortunately there is no cure or treatment for the disorder and it's also quite rare. If and when we do get preggers we have to have a Cvs test at 12 weeks in London, we have a 1 in 4 chance of having a child with the syndrome but on ymthe flipside it's 3 out of 4 for a normal result!

I'm keeping positive for u all and im also getting excited about the months ahead!

Are u all ttc now?

I am waiting until february Angry only fir geographical reasons! I am on the Cambridge Diet at the moment. So I have 3 shakes/porridge/soups a day which amounts to 480 calories a day.
I will have to come off this in Feb but it's been a godsend for losing a bit of weight before I get fat again! So far I have lost 1st and a half in 3 weeks. However, I have forgotten how to chew Grin

How is everybody "getting" on? (don't normally ask people about their sex lives) Blush
