Its part of our summer holiday rituals.

We start on time and panic towards the end

OH heavens, we are doing it, but I hate it. DD went into panic because she lost her TeamRead sheet and we had to get another, then they had to put the stickers on right away in the library (meanwhile, 4yo running around manically, and baby squawking for food). Using the self-service check out I discover one of the books DD ordered has come in, so I have to queue up again to speak to librarian while trying to control 4yo and baby and others...

I lugged about 30 books home in a heavy backpack from the library today, last thing I need is some scheme to encourage DC to make extra library visits.

DD is doing the Team Read, reading challenge at our local library. She has read books 1 and 2 so far, and we really do need to return to the library sometime this week to get them changed - might try and fit it in in the morning. 4 more to go. Need to make more effort to actually go to the library - that bit would help her do it quicker!

My DCs love this - they did the Big Wild Read last year and loved getting their certificates presented at school.

They've read first 2 books and we got a whole heap of new books out yesterday. The trick is to rent a DVD for them because then you HAVE to go back the following week or you get a huge fine and wish you'd bought the damned film at Woolies in the first place!

Well, we managed to get to the library today so DD now proudly has her bronze stickers, and has another two Team read books to start on.

We are cod!
Dd is keener than ds - we are talking Spot the Dog stuff for her of course
Agree with you fish, the books are around, the offspring are willing, it is reminding ds to be a bit structured about it rather than just endlessly re-reading favourite chapters from Artemis sodding Fowl
