If you have had more than one c/s, how many scars do you have?

I ask because I only realised the other day that I have 2 scars from 2 c/s, and inch apart!

Is this normal? I thought they went in the same scar?

I've had 2 cs but have only 1 scar.

I've also had two c/s and only one scar, they cut an extra 1cm off to make it neat rather than have two scars.

Have had 4 CS but only have 1 scar. I thought they just cut the old scar out each time.

i have had two cs but only one scar ... but i have heard that it is not always possible to use the same scar , something to do with scar tissue i think .

1 Scar 2 Sections

I think (?) that it isnt possible to sew scar tissue to scar tissue, IYSWIM, so they have to cut around the scar tissue(losing inches, instant tummy tuck) Or make a new cut.

2 c/s, 2 scars. 1st was an emergency, it's longer and curves downwards. 2nd was planned so smaller, straighter and much neater. The 2 scars are very close together though.

Something to ask consultant about when I go to see him at 16 weeks in December. The first one is very low, below pubic line and was a very painful recovery.

Wonder if higher cuts are less painful in recovery?

Maybe they will take out both scars with my next section, as there is enough skin!

As far as I know, only 1 scar from 3 csections. By my belly hangs over so I have not examined it that closely!

Must remember to ask this when I see the consultant on the 7th December - Thank you for reminding me

Only 1 scar and 1 section so far but it was an emergency one and my wound got infected so it's quite fat and ugly in some places.

IlanaK It has taken me 15 months to get a good look!

Its strange that they never told me either, after the op when one of surgical team come to see you.

Wonder if it was because there was only 18 months between them?

My higher up one is alot longer than the first one! He was a hugh baby so maybe they made it longer for him to fit? Well I think I know the order of them, but maybe I am wrong!

I like to know these sorts of things about my body!

sigh (as well)

thats my first biscuit as well

2 cs, 1 scar. They made the second cut very close to the first then cut the first scar off to avoid excess scar tissue.

1 scar, 2 sections 19 months apart. The surgeon did say he was going to cut out the old one whilst he did it. Apparently it wasn't neat enough!

2 cs, 1 scar. the surgeon second time said he would cut in the same place, trim off the excess scar tissue, cautherise and sew me back up again. he said it all went v well - he would, i guess he did scan it to make sure all was well mind. have no idea as not medical and can't see it for the overhang bit.

2 sections, 3 scars (they fucked up the second one and I had to have a large incisional hernia repair later on) so I had two lovely parallel lines on my pubic bone and a great big slashy one just under my navel too
