Waters gushing

Horrible title but...

Really happy my water went with a 'hollywood' gush Grin just read on another thread only about 16% of women do this before contractions start usually.

How did everyone elses go?

With a double Hollywood gush, (pregnant with Dts 2 sacs, not too sure if both sacs exploded, but there was an awful amount of water, I skidded around in it) it was in public too, at a local naice country pub Blush.
I dint even get to have my roast beef

We are so lucky Confused haha!

Gutted about the roast beef though. I had to get a taxi to the hospital, thank god i wasn't in public! but did miss the xfactor final to go off into labour ( just as it started!) Grin

Only good thing about my previous house was the wood flooring Shock

Yes, first time on my bathroom floor. Thought I was done but had a second gush onto the floor of maternity admissions.

Second time, would have been epic, but was in the birthing pool. Felt it pop like a balloon and DS swam out after the next push.

Rachy i thought the pop was amazing haha. Iv seen a lot of people saying they had two gushes. I just had one but it never settled down. 15 hours later and it was still like a full spun water tap. So embarrassing especially in the taxi Shock

Envy
my first labour my waters were popped for me by the midwife just before pushing stage
second they went by them selfs literally 5 mins before i pushed it wasn't great or anything as i was telling the midwife to get it out at the time so i didn't register anything by that point

First time on the sofa.

Second time asleep in bed.

Both Hollywood style. I wasn't happy about it either time tbh, particularly second time round as I knew it meant the babies were in crappy positions and my waters had gone because of that and not because they were ready to be born. Two v long labours, two Caesareans. When my waters went with dc2 I sobbed horribly and had a panic attack as I had prayed it would be different second time round.

I was on my way to the bar Blush, I thought I'd pissed myself at first. Blush Blush I kept on try to cross my legs to stop it, but it just kept coming.
I felt a bit of a pop too,it was good, a bit like piercing your own ears. I felt a bit funny right before hand, a bit flushed and bothered, but not quite dizzy.

Thanks for the congrats Smile. Newborn is indeed snuffle, apparently because her birth went ahead quite quickly after waters broke, she is still a bit mucusy! But gorgeous. By the way if your waters break and they are green/dark yellow /brown stained, that's meconium so your midwives will want to see you straight away. Mine were clear first time and had meconium second time. All fine though!

Dc1 - broken by midwife to append labour up (didn't work)
Dc2 - went as I started pushing
Dc3 - Hollywood style. Except I was on the loo, thought I'd wet myself and they were filthy green/brown due to meconium so not very Hollywood at all Grin

Big pop like a rubber band snapping followed by a big gush thirty seconds after DH, ahem, finished

BadRoly · 05/11/2014 14:55

Mine gushed with all 3 of my vbacs - but went immediately prior to pushing stage. I only remember hearing/feeling the pop with the middle one and was really surprised that my Mum and dh didn't hear it Grin

Total gush with both - once in bed (new mattress needed!) and second time all over floor and midwife while I was half standing in an "active birth" style way. (After that I lay on the bed and refused to move)

rachyconks · 05/11/2014 21:40

The pop hurt me! It was like someone pinging a rubber band off somewhere round my cervix. Brought a tear to my eye even though I was pushing DS out!

showy- what's that about waters going before contractions meaning the baby is in a bad position? My waters went before contractions with my back to back baby and had long labour resulting in section so interested to see your post because I'd never heard that before!

Sorehead my waters went an hour before contractions i also had a back to back labour. They told me at 9am after 15 hours of labour and 3 of pushing, if i didnt give birth in half hour its be a section. Litrally gave birth at 9.29am Grin

chloecorey- glad you managed to avoid a section after 3 hours of pushing! They let me labour for 25 hours but I never got past 5cm despite good contractions and syntocin drip- think my baby changed his mind about coming out part way through Wink I was told that if he hadn't been b2b/ had turned part way through he would have been out quite quickly with the way I was contracting. Oh well, the section was good for sympathy and getting out of hoovering
