DH did both of ours, but we had a couple of hours skin to skin with DS, and DD was a ELCS, and was swaddled with just a nappy on til we got into recovery, and I got an hours skin-to-skin with her. Would have loved to do it myself but was too weak both times

MW both times for me too and I had vbs.

DP did one, I did the second.

In our case the m/w did it both times - first was a forceps delivery and second an ELCS.

Midwife did dd1. Dd2 didn't get dressed for hours as it was so hot although I suppose someone must have put a nappy on her. I eventually dressed her in the middle of the night when the temperature dropped a bit.

Little snuggly newborn gorgeousness. I SO want another baby.

Midwife dressed dd while I was having a bath. However the clothes I had brought were far too big and she hated wearing them, so she ended up in a nappy and blanket most of the time in hospital!

Maternity nurse wrapped him in a blanket, but one of us (it's all a fog tbh) dressed him in his first babygrow - once we remembered that is (I think he was in nappy and blanket for about the first 12 hours)..

If it's your PFB you both do while shouting helpful comments like "don't break his arms" IME

For my NSB, DH nappied and dressed her while I was in te shower

MW & DH. Well, DH passed MW the clothes....

No-one for 24 hours (we forgot the hospital bag!- my excuse is that I was in labour, DH's excuse was that he was busy looking after me! Hmm)
so DD wore a hospital towel for a day.

DH under MW supervision.

The doctor who stitched me. After she had done so she and another registrar decided to play dollies with DS - it was quite hilarious really as neither of them had ever dressed a baby before (neither had I) and the MW was despairing at their lack of popper co-ordination.

DH both times. It's the only time he's ever dressed and put a nappy on (6mo) DD2. Angry Grin

I have 3 DCs and can honestly say I have no idea! It certainly wasn't me (I was out cold for one of the arrivals and too busy with my post-partum tea and toast for the other two).

I did, and I cherish the memory.

Phew, thank you. MW first time and a paramedic 2nd (very brave of him I thought :) )
I was just suddenly feeling cheated after a couple of friends were saying about how they dressed their babies the first time.

That said I did PPH both times so was otherwise engaged.

Thanks everyone for putting my mind at rest :) :)
