....to say thank you so much for raving about Nodes Point.

We got back this morning from a week in one of their 'ready tents' and just had the best time.It was utterly blissful. It was the first holiday in years that I 100% did not want to come home.
How good is the food at Baywatch?Never thought I would see ds2 peel prawns and eat fresh, grilled sardines.

Had a lovely family for neighbours,(if you're reading this 'K',it looks like you found me)and have a whole weeks worth of 'happy days' memories for all of us.

I'm going to hunt you down on Facebook now just so I can show you the photos.
Thank you again.
xx

Ah I see that makes sense

Dh as yet ahs no idea I ahve outed myself on here yet LOL

We are trying to decide atm between cornwall and nodes for next year- cornwall site (pentewan) was fabulous, but Nodes is well, Nodes.

Completely stuck for a decisioN!

have you looked at pentewan for future? They dont have perma tents but do have holidays homes as well as pitches. And a private beach LOL.

OOOh- since you have been there lately

last time they were still installing new showers etc so we just got porta blovks, did you notice if the new blocks had decent baby baths or anything? ta

Will look into Pentewan, the private beach sounds good,I think it was having the beach so close to the tent that really made the holiday for us.We do have our own tent but it's a one room tesco job, only good for festivals really,I'm working on Dh and have been pointing out Lovely Tents all week.
There are new toilet shower blocks on the left as you go down to the tent fields. They have code locks and are only for those fields. We asked a fella and he said the whole site had been using them initially because of their sparkley newness and the water kept running out, hence the secret codes.Dh sneaked in once,so I will ask him later what he noticed(nothing I suspect-he had ds2 and 3 with him-I was on washing up duties he dipped out with showers...heh heh heh!)

tents- we're after the Coleman Weathermaster nexta s it survived a terrible storm when othing else did, although our Khyam Ontario 8 was / is fantastic value )did survive but needed repitching, whilst Coleman family slept through- grrrr)

Report
Peachy · 05/08/2007 21:48

hwich, Nemo?

neither were expensive imo given the locations- iirc neither over £300 for 5 of us peak season which is good imo

nodes dont be put off by it being in a chain, you can completely skip that side of it- all you will then have is camping (or caravans) with a beautiful bay with a fantastic restaurant (scallops with pumopkinseed salsa- and gorgeous kids meals too) at the bottom of the hill.

pentewan

you have to book early for pentewan- which says it all, November is suggested (we did that)

Again amazing, so very clean and lovely, beach right on your doorstep- private as well in thsi one.

Excellent campsites both imo

the resort does not look good in the website - I prefer things a little less organised. the way you describe it sounds great though

Report
Peachy · 05/08/2007 22:10

We skipped the resotrt bit

just stuck to the beach and site

thats all you need really

and as the tents are nowhere near the clubs etc, you literally just drive past going in or out- so its not an issue any more than if it were next door iyswim

Beetroot · 05/08/2007 22:11

pentewan looks good alothough I worry abouthe kids club/disco side of it

Report
Nemo2007 · 05/08/2007 22:12

see resort semi appeals to me if we are there for a week as the little fishes get bored very easy but they are too young to be entertained with a beach etc all week.

Peachy · 05/08/2007 22:12

they dont drag you in you know

Actually pentewan ahs a retreat which'd suit you Beety i think

We did go to the kids hour at night (for the peace) but totally skipped the kids club, and ds's didnt realise it was happening.

I love the idea of camping so near a beach - that is fabulous.

we are just back from the river dart country park. great fun, camped in The Walled Garden which was small and not busy although we had to walk a way to the loos. Great place for kids to their their independence.

Have bookmarked that, we do a mix of types

The beaches are great- both seem to combine both sandy beach and rockpools so perfect for the boys really
