Hi
Partner and I have just come across this super board and need some help here. We don't know what we are having, have a few names in mind though still not overly happy with any...
Boys

  1. Oscar (poss too popular)
  2. Archie (as above)
  3. Piran (unsure)
  4. Marley
  5. Sebastian

Girls
  1. Izabela (think this is the one)
  2. Liberty-Rose
  3. Talula-Belle
  4. Iola

We want something different but not pretentious, classic but not frumpy...Any thoughts greatly appreciated.

Whichever you choose, please spell them properly. "Izabela"? "Talula"?

Izabela is really pretty. Not so sure about Piran (too close to Piriton for hayfever?). What about Hugo, Jude or Gregory for your boys list?

PS not sure if you have any other children but remember to think through all the poss nicknames and the like as little darlings turn into little horrors around 10!

Oscar and Sebastian fab.

Isabella fab (please not the way you've spelled it there).

Thanks all. Trying something slightly different with the spelling but obviously hasn't worked . This is our first little one so it's all pretty manic. Plain Rose is a good shout marmaduke!

We've thought of the nickname convention which is why we're a touch put of Oscar (Ozzy?)...

Oliver instead of Oscar then?

I like the suggestion of Gregory: don't get many of those now but still quite a classic sounding name.

Laurence?
Toby?

Good freind is Olly so unfortunately out, liking Esme, Isabella though is a very safe choice though and ticks all the right boxes, although more popular than we would have liked

Sebastian is lovely. Not a fan of nicknames but could be Zeb.

Isobella is gorgeous. Bella for short.

Evie could be added, Elliot's cute too, my hubby is a big 'Dexter' fan though I'm not liking it .

I would have used Eliza or Tansy for dd2 if she hadn't turned out to be ds1 and then ds2

  1. Oscar - love
  2. Archie - love
  3. Piran (unsure) - reminds me of Piranhas.
  4. Marley - girl's name
  5. Sebastian - too popular

Girls

  1. Izabela (think this is the one) - spelt incorectly and too popular
  2. Liberty-Rose - I like Liberty on it's own but nearly every other girl I know has Rose, May or Grace as their middle name or part of a hyphenated name.
  3. Talula-Belle - Love both names on their own but sound silly together. And it's Tallulah.
  4. Iola - sounds a bit unfinished to me. Prefer Viola.
