Need feedback on baby names

I lke it. Know a litttle boy from our toddler called ripley. it was also my friend from schools surname.

No actually kid i know is Riley ... but both nice!!

Hasn't Ripley's Believe it or Not just opened in London? With all sorts of oddities, shrunken heads, Victorian circus freaks etc.

I'd think about Ripley's believe it or not too. I would assume it was a surname. Do you have any other ideas?

Two other names we are considering are Hugo and Oden.

The meaning of ripley that we are drawn to is "the meadow beside a river", which is our favorite spot on our property. It has also had the meaning of "serene". Lastly, we are surfers,and Rip is a surfing term. So Ripleys believe it or not, Alien, then talented Mr Ripley are not associations we like, but people seem to understandably make. Thoughts?

I think it depends on you - round here, a Ripley would belong to the chavvy family and would have a shaved head at pre-school age. However a little surfer boy all dressed in mini boden could probably make the name his own.

Prefer Odin to Oden. But of the three I like Hugo best, even though the only Hugo I knew was a bit of a Hooray Henry. I like unusual names, I just prefer names that are immediately identifiable as a first name.

Ripley is a place near where I live. You would not want to be named after it....

Ripley is ghastly imo. I love Hugo but decided to give it a miss for my two sons as we don't have a country estate and can't afford to send them to Eton.

We know a Ripley. He is the violent one at nursery. But his parents are very cool and he'll grow out of hitting.
