A bit austere.

Verity was top of our list before we found out we were having a boy. We really liked Honor too, but some celebrity just had one, so it might get more popular and we were looking for something not too used

sorry, sounds like ferrety, which actually better suits the only verity i know.

Same as poshtottie. I would have loved it for a girl, but DP hated it.
The only Verity I have known was lovely, which probably helps.

Love it love it love it. I have a very good friend called Verity so not sure I could ever use it for any hypothetical DD, but still...

I think it's strong, classy and stands out without being try-hard.

I really like it but dp doesn't, he thinks its too 'posh'.

I quite like it. It sounds posh, strong, ladidah to me though.

Oh no is it posh? I don't really want a posh name. I thought it was a bit unusual but not too much iyswim.

Was on my list until dc2 turned out to be a boy. Lovely.

one of my dds has it as a middle name. I like it.

I really like it, have it on the list for DC2, but suspect it wouldn't get past DH...

It's an old fashioned name I think, I associate it with Quakers, but that could be just me?

Named my DD2 this only 9 weeks ago - and we love it....as so do other people. Unless of course they're just being kind!!

Oh - I just saw that some people think it's 'posh'..! We're not posh!! Turns out my Aunt (who's 83) had several friends at school called Verity. Think it's one of those old, and almost forgotten names having a bit of a revival. I'd not realised that it was popular way back then.

I like it. knew a Verity who was GORGEOUS. Shame her mum was a bit of a spoilt cow. But that's not your problem! Go with it, it's lovely. You'll never find a name that everyone likes (apart from Lilo, of course) Find a name that you and DH/DP love and agree on and sod everyone else.

I have a lovely friend who is really down to earth called Verity and really like the name.
