First name to go with middle name of Lily

Hi,

We have chosen the middle name Lily for our baby girl due in Feb. This is a family name my partner is certain on. Our surname is Dolby but we are really struggling with a first name and would like some opinions.

Here is our list of options (but open to others)

Macie Lily
Evelyn Lily
Nancy Lily
Nora Lily
Marcey Lily
Harlow Lily

Many thanks 😊

From your list I like Nancy the best.

Martha Lily would be my choice.

I love Lily, but your first names aren't my thing, apart from Evelyn.

However, what I'd suggest is not using a name ending in a 'y' or 'ie' as you'd have three names with the same ending which doesn't flow.

I do quite like Evelyn. but it's very 'l' heavy with the other two names.

Nora Lily works well.

Evelyn, Harlow and Nora all go nicely. I think they work better than names ending in 'y'.

I like Evelyn Lily. Sounds lovely with your surname.

Jessica
Caitlin
Imogen

(I personally dislike the ee sound ending first names as lily and Dolby both end the same and I think it's too much even when just first and last name used iyswim)

Also Eva Lily sounds good.

Evelyn is lovely. My daughters middle name is Lily after my mum who is a Lilian. Her first name is Willow. Our other options were Freya, Amelie, Orla and Imogen.

Evangeline lily is beaut - but you’d be sharing with the actress. Clementine lily is the closest sounding that’s been suggested. I like not having the double ‘y’ or ‘ie’

Most of your options are y/ie or l heavy when combined with your surname.

Other suggestions:
Francesca
Margot
Harriet

I love Evelyn normally but then you have three li sounds together.

Yvette?
Marcia?

Seren Lily
Emilia Lily
Anna Lily
Thea Lily
Norah Lily
Arabella Lily
Zarah Lily
Eliza Lila

I definitely think names with an A or AH ending sound nicer. Not a fan of them ending Y with Lily

Totally agree with PP, Evangeline Lily is a beautiful name.

Thank you, so far you've been a great help.

We hadn't even realised that some of the name endings sound very similar to Lily and Dolby, so I'm glad that's been pointed out.

I like Lily but as its so popular we wanted a slightly more unique sounding name. We did think of Liliana (partners grandma was called Lilian) so maybe something like Liliana Rae but was unsure whether she'd spend her life explaining how to spell/say it etc especially whilst at school so that's why we're thinking of just going with Lily for a middle name.

Any further opinions are greatly appreciated 😁😁

Of your list I like Nancy and Evelyn, but Nancy is too many ys. Evelyn works OK but a lot of Ls.

Nancy Dolby sounds better than Evelyn Dolby however, so could you tweak and call her Nancy Lilian Dolby - or as Nancy is a nn for Anne originally you could call her Anna Lily Dolby and use Nancy as a nn.

Other names - Clara, Esther, Eva, Lara, Eliza, Freya, Orla, Anya - ideally I think you want something light and sharp sounding as Dolby is quite a heavy surname.

I love the name Lily and would use it as a first name if I ever had another daughter.
I like Charlotte Lily too.
From your list I like Macie Lily Smile
