Name for Amelie’s sister

Hi everyone,

My DH and I are struggling to find a name for our little girl and would appreciate some name suggestions that we may not have thought of! I lean towards more traditional names but DH prefers more unique names (DD1 would have been Amelia but DH felt this was too popular when she was born in 2015).

We are open to any suggestions, our surname begins with an m so probably want to avoid m names.

Thanks for your help!

Josephine

Madeleine if you don't mind the M
Claire
Yvette

All have a French air to them that might go with Amelie.

Thanks for your suggestions, there’s some lovely names here which we haven’t mentioned before, so maybe something we both like!

I love Elsie (was my great grandmas name). Violet and Sylvie but DH finds them old lady names unfortunately.

Francesca and Evelyn are two we have spoken about that we both like but not sure they are the one yet.

We have a Jessica and I like Amelie for if we had another girl. I think they go together well.

Thanks for all the additional suggestions :)

Manic I think your post sums up my DH and I really well! I like all your traditional names whilst he would want one from the unique list, which I think are pretty but a little too unusual for me to use.

He did suggest Zoe last night, which I quite like. I know it won’t be to everyone’s taste, but can you see any obvious disadvantages of using this name? Am I right in assuming most people in the UK would be able to pronounce this as Zo-Ee rather than Zo as I wouldn’t want to spell it with a y?

Didn’t realise the problems we would have with pronouncitation and spelling of Amelie, so keen to avoid similar issues this time!

Thanks

Yes, it's a well known name and will be pronounced Zo-ee Smile

I think Amelie & Esme go beautifully together.
Or Amelie & Clara
