Starting to think of names for our little girl, currently 35 weeks. What are all of your opinions of the name Naomi? I love it but have had mixed reactions from friends/family

I had a friend called Naomi who hated it because backwards it spells I moan.

I like that name, other names I like are Sarah, Amy, Emma (very popular at the minute I hear) Louise, Bethany it's so difficult to choose a name isn't it!

Don't love it to be honest. Have noticed people also have trouble pronouncing if

I love it, but don't like when people pronounce it "NY-oh-mee" instead of "NAY-oh-mee", so I wouldn't use it for that reason.

I love it too. One of my favourite girls names.

I like it but some idiots people will mistakenly pronounce it Ny-omi.

Ironic that @LoveInTokyo finds the Japanese pronunciation stupid. (It's technically Na-oh-mee rather than Ny-oh-mee in Japan but hey ho)

RedDwarves · 23/04/2018 22:58

jaime Yes, but I doubt the people Love is talking about are Japanese. Hmm That argument might have some more weight if we were all in Japan.

I love it, but then I am one, so a little biased!

I really like it, and don't mind which pronunciation.

It has good meanings in Hebrew and Japanese too.

No idea what you are talking about, jaime. Confused

I really like it but I pronounce it Ny-oh-mee so am obviously an idiot and my opinion can't be trusted.
