DH just mentioned he likes this. Is it a classic or a bit 80s/90s?

Classic, I really like it. Sadly I don't like the most common nicknames - Alex, Lexi, etc. I like Sasha though!

I have an Alexandra, known as Alex. We love it.

Love it - was my second choice for my dd

I think I like it too, but not sure about any of the shortened forms and I feel like it’s too long on its own.

Love it! I have boys but it was my number 1 name if I had a girl.

There's nothing wrong with the long version: Alexandra. Great name.

Mrsknackered - Sasha is the Russian nickname for Alex(andra), is it not?

I like it. I know one who is known as Xa or Xa-Xa which I think is a nice alternative nn.

Classic. Alexandra, Al, Ally, Sasha, Alex, Sandy (I love it), Sandra, Zan/Xandra, Lexi (not keen) etc,

Sashenka is pretty.

I know a Russian female Sasha (Alexandra) so perhaps traditionally it's just for males, but it has been used for a female more than once Wink

Classic and a beautiful name as long as Lexi isn't the nn. I don't mind Alex or Andie but hate Lexi

Love it and many nn options

Very nice, absolute classic. Maybe you could revive Sandra as a shortened form if that's not too old lady? I don't like Alex because I hated school where every other girl was "Alex". None were memorable individually, but that form of the name has a whiff of mouldy PE kit about it IYSWIM.

Classic and elegant, with a bit of oomph. Always loved it.
