I really like this name.
Some won't get past the "parrot" thing, some will mention the Nirvana song, some will ask if you really want to use the same name as Amy Childs and some will simply sing "Miss Polly had a Dolly"....

But, nonetheless, I love it Grin

Yes I love it! I just seem to get mixed reviews from people I mention it too.

I love it too - and I've never met a child called Polly. Only know one in her 30s. I'm surprised it's not more popular.

Too many connotations with that name I think.
How about
Molly
Millie
Sally
Ellie (Eleanor)

To me it's one of those names that is cute on a little girl but doesn't seem to suit a grown woman. Though that's probably because I've not met one! Names it reminds me of that aren't on the excellent list from Sophronia are Poppy and Holly

No.
You're setting your child up for a lifetime of Polly wants a cracker jokes and Polly put the kettle on.
Life's tough enough without saddling your child with a name that is open to ridicule.

My DD is Polly, she is 8. I've not met another. Big Nirvana fan here...

My Polly is sassy and smart, the name really suits her.

Oh and nobody says anything about kettles!

I know a 17 year old Polly.

You will get mixed reviews for every name. I love the Polly I know, the name suits her, never a problem. I personally don't adore it as a name, but as HER name it's perfect.

I love it.
Pollyanna maybe
Then they can be Anna when they are older if they decide they hate polly.

Kids will find a reason to make fun if they want to make fun. Whatever the name is so I wouldn't worry too much about that.

I have a 2 yr old Polly. No kettle/parrot etc jokes and I didn't even know about Amy Childs' daughter (and will anyone even know who she is in ten years?). I consider it to be a strong, simple but pretty name without being overly flouncy. I haven't met any other young Polly's but have met a couple of grown up ones and it works really well, doesn't seem like a child's name at all.

Polly is lovely. I know an 18 year old Polly. Don't even get half the references referred to here!

I like Polly - probably wouldn't go for it myself, as it's a bit too nickname-ish - but it's a much better choice than the way more common Molly, Tilly, Milly, Ellie, etc.

It wouldn't be for me, a bit cutesy imo and I'm struggling to picture it on an adult.

I do definitely prefer it to Milly, Tilly, Molly, Billie etc though!

I dislike it, sorry. It sounds affected and cutesy to me, but that's just a personal taste thing and clearly many on here do like it! There will always be some who like a name and some who don't, so if you love it, use it!

It's a family name and really very few jokes about it ever as an adult. Not ever been a problem. Great name in my view.

I know a wonderful grown up Polly.

It's one of those names I think the owner needs to be quite confident to pull off!

I like Polly. It's a friends nn but very people know it's not her actual name, she always gets comments on what a lovely name it is.

We have a primary school age Polly in the family. To our (and her) knowledge, she has never had a parrot, cracker or pocket related joke! She loves her name.

I know a very cool grown up Polly too. Would love to see somebody call her cutesy Grin

My primary school best friend's big sister was called Polly and she was so cool. Only positive connotations here.

I think that
Nancy
Bessie
Nell have a similar feel

I love Polly. Would've been on our list, but it clashed with our surname.
