I love Bertie or Oscar I'd choose Bertie as the everyday NN but put William on the BC

I have a Bertie- but he's registered as Albert. I wouldn't have Bertie as a "proper" name- but we love it as an everyday name for our DS

Bertie without question - love it!

Since when was Bertie a nickname for William? Confused

Bertie is a nick name to me( a nice one) he might appreciate a full name when he goes to a job interview etc.

Bertie everytime. I'd use Albert as a full name though but then it's not my baby Smile

Oscar. I hate Bertie, sorry Grin

Sorry, that was a bit abrupt, my partner was shouting me for something.

Bertie/ Albert is one of those old man names and i'm getting a bit tired of them. I also had a friend with a Bertie who couldn't stop posting statuses about his bowel movements and it sort of put me off the name.

I love, love LOVE Oscar though. So classy.

Oscar. Bertie is not my cup of tea at all.

Definitely not Bertie! I know one, he's a horrible little brat. I also think that the old man baby names trend is wearing a bit thin.

If you do go with Bertie, make sure he has a proper full name on his birth certificate to use as an adult on CVs etc (and possibly a very plain, 'boring' middle name that he can swap to in future if needed!)

Oscar.
There are SO many babies called Albert (Albie or Bertie) atm. I'm not a fan.

Bertie if short for Albert, otherwise Oscar

Currently fostering a dog called Oscar.
Tho he cries all the time so maybe appropriate?

I like Bertie but agree it's more of a nickname, maybe go for a more formal name on the birth certificate

I like Bertie as short for Robert rather than Albert. Oscar is nice but it's one of those names you hear a lot, if that bothers you.

Bertie IS Bertie Wooster to me. And fond as I am of him I just couldn't give that name to a baby.

Bertie is a lovely nickname. Oscar is nice.

I personally would choose Albert or Bertram nn Bertie. Or maybe Gilbert? Robert?

Did we find out how/why Bertie was a nick name for William? Grin I'd be guessing if he was really a Bertram (as in Wooster) or an Albert if introduced to a Bertie

I prefer Oscar, though it's very popular, popular but nice. I don't like it shortened though

You could have Osbert, a combination of both. No, forget that, actually not a good idea...

Oscar.

Bertie is pretty awful, but it's okay as a nickname for Robert. I don't like Albert at all, and Bertram is a name few could pull off.
