Thoughts? Worried it could be too plain or that there may be loads of them?

jimpam Fri 04-Mar-16 11:19:46

I think rather than being plain it's classic & pretty. Suits every age, nice solid name I think. I have a friend called Holly who absolutely suits her name & is lovely.

PalePolkaDot Fri 04-Mar-16 11:21:18

I love it - have a very good friend who really suits it. There are at least 2 in both my dc school years though if that bothers you

AntiquityReRises Fri 04-Mar-16 11:23:05

There seemed to be a lot a few years ago but not so many now if that's a concern.

Tis a very pretty name.

thebiscuitindustry Fri 04-Mar-16 11:41:18

I like it.

3luckystars Fri 04-Mar-16 11:49:32

I had discounted it because I thought it was too Christmassy, but its actually a nice name all the same.

Iliveinalighthousewiththeghost Fri 04-Mar-16 14:35:33

It's a name, but IMO would only be okay for a winter baby.

kaymondo Fri 04-Mar-16 14:46:12

Classic and works for both little girls and women.

I would assume a winter birthday though!

CreamofTartar Fri 04-Mar-16 14:48:04

Not keen. I class with the irredeemably naff Noelle. It sounds 'Christmas-themed' to me.

TrueBlu Fri 04-Mar-16 18:47:29

If she's born around Christmas it's lovely

cally0 Fri 04-Mar-16 18:48:18

Never thought about the Xmas connection! Baby due early October x

rainbowstardrops Fri 04-Mar-16 18:48:54

I would associate it with a winter baby but I do like it smile

Gracey79 Fri 04-Mar-16 18:52:05

I like it, don't think it matters when she's born.

Quercus3 Fri 04-Mar-16 20:01:53

It's lovely no matter what the time of year.

Ages well, pretty without being too girly.

Allalonenow Fri 04-Mar-16 20:08:32

It's quite pretty, but best used for a Christmas baby I think.

Foxsox Fri 04-Mar-16 20:10:51

Not just for christmas babies at all.

It's a lovely name.

thebiscuitindustry Fri 04-Mar-16 20:13:00

I don't think the time of year makes a difference.

Rainbowqueeen Fri 04-Mar-16 20:15:00

Love it

Time of year makes no difference

DSD is Holly, born in June. Named after Holly Golightly. Lovely name, have never met another Holly (that I can think of) - she is in her 30s

Katarzyna79 Fri 04-Mar-16 20:20:51

girlandboy Fri 04-Mar-16 20:24:49

DD is Holly. Born in September and she's 20. Not just for Christmas.

Beautiful name.

NightCityLights Fri 04-Mar-16 20:35:28

My name is Holly and I do often get asked if I was born around Christmas. I was born in August.

Aside from that though I like my name and I don't meet many other Hollys at all.

Borntobeamum Fri 04-Mar-16 20:36:58

I always wanted to call my dd Holly, till I married a Mr Wood.

Sixinabed Fri 04-Mar-16 21:20:40

Holly is an evergreen, it doesn't appear magically at Christmas hmm

It is a nice name.
