Personally i love them. Some- yes are a little outrageous but my next baba is going to be called Saffron and i couldn't think of a more beautiful name!
I also like, Scarlett, Rose, Indigo, Amber, Violet.

Saffron is lovely, also a spice. Rose and violet are also flowers and amber is a semi-precious stone. I agree they're all gorgeous names. I don't like Blue as a name though and when I was younger, the local drug dealer had a staffy called Brown.

Are there any colours for boys names?

I really like Scarlett, would be on our shortlist if it went with our surname!
Violet is ok, Saffron is nice though not as keen on Saffy, Rose seems to be a very pretty & popular middle name, though don't really like Amber or Indigo.

I also quite like Olive and Ruby.

However I think some colour names are a no no - I know of a boy called Blue and a girl called Lilac which to me are pushing it a bit.

I hate Scarlett but love Indigo. Violet is nice but so so popular as is Amber. Grey and Red are great though, I don't like Blue it is a miserable colour but then I guess so is Grey and I love that. I once met a Mauve.

Indigo is a boys name isn't it? And blue.

I love colour names - but see all names as a colour anyway Grin.

Grey could work for a boy with the right surname. Yellow, orange and purple don't cut it. Esmeralda means emerald and I've heard of sapphire, topaz, pearl, opal, ruby of course and cerise. Maybe Fuschia? Cyan? Turquoise ?
My understanding is that actress Fairuza Balk's name means turquoise in Persian.

I like most colour and gem names. What I don't like are themes. So no more than one jem, colour or flower per family!

Saffron is pretty, I've never came across a Saffron either. I adore the name Amber but my last name's a colour so it would just sound daft!

Carmine is a boys colour name which I would use but DH would veto.
