Matilda, Alice or Natasha?

I love them all and will probably wait and see what suits best but am interested in your opinions please!

Which do you like best?

Middle name not decided yet but would like one with family connections and our surname is one syllable beginning with D.

Matilda is lovely but I know lots of baby Matildas.

Alice is also lovely and I don't know any.

Natasha sounds a bit 70s / 80s

I like all of them but Matilda is quite popular at the moment (in the SE anyway) so I'd go for one of the other names.

i love alice, like matilda, not keen on natasha (mostly because where we live it would become 'tasha)

Alice or Matilda

Definitely Natasha.

Alice and Matilda are a bit dull and buttoned up.

Definitely Matilda! Matilda Alice sounds lovely too!

Natasha Alice would be my choice, first name, middle name.

Classic and not daddy like Matilda. So many baby Matildas.

Faddy, not daddy.

Defiantly Matilda. Alice is alright, not keen on Natasha it sounds a bit dated

Alice and Natasha are both lovely.

Matilda is OK.

Alice is the nicest.

Matilda is too much like Hilda, plus it's overused.

Natasha is awful. Very eighties.

Natasha is lovely!

1000 x nicer than the other two names.

NadiaWadia · 15/02/2014 03:40

Well maybe they had better taste in the eighties. None of these silly OAP names like 'Wilf' that seem to be popular.

Alice, then Matilda. I would not choose Natasha. Natalia is much nicer.

Matilda

Natasha gets short to Tash (bleugh)

Alice - I don't like it

Thanks for your help so far!

Matilda seems to be the most popular and probably my favourite but I didn't realise it was so popular. I'm a secondary school teacher and haven't heard of any Matildas but I suppose they are all little! I've taught some lovely Natashas and I think it sounds quite strong and Russian, not too girly, which makes me quite like it, never thought it was 80s but I suppose it was more popular then!

My partner likes Rachel as well. Any thoughts on this? Do you think it's a bit dated too?

Rachel is a good name to.

if you like Russian ones my favourite one is Tamara.

I like Natasha and Rachel. I like Alice but I don't like Matilda. I do think Matilda is faddy.

Rachel is very nice (better than Matilda IMO). Yes, probably more popular in 90s (not sure about 80s) but who cares! It's pretty classic.

If you like Natasha there is also Natalie and Natalya, all lovely.
Alice makes a great middle name as well.
Matilda is very sweet.
I know two baby Rachel's, I think it is unusual these days but obvious popular through the ages.

I love Matilda, I would say it is definitely on the increase, I have come across a few preschoolers with the name. But isn't a name popular for a reason?! It does not remind me of Hilda at all, as someone above has suggested.
I think Alice is nice and Natasha seems quite classic but doesn't do it for me. I dislike Rachel, very 80s to me.

Pippacat85 they were names I wanted for my 3 DDs Wasn't 100% on Matilda but DH wanted nn Matty so in the end she is Matya (Mat-ee-a), DD2 is Natasha nn Tasha and DD3 is Alicia (A-li-c-a) originally wanted Alice as a mn but couldn't find a name we liked. By way my 3 are 17, 16 & 14 now.

I like Natasha far more than the other two.
It isn't 80s, it's classic!
